Are we supposed to pray for the wolves?
Imagine if you will, the following scenario:
A shepherd guarding his sheep observes a wolf among the flock cloaked in sheepskin. He stands up and yells “Wolf! Wolf! Run! Run!” And immediately the sheep begin to scatter, but not all. A small group turn to the sheep dog and, with an arrogant smirk plastered across their faces, respond, “But did you pray for the wolf?”
Bewildered as to why these sheep were ignoring his warning, the shepherd reiterates the danger of the wolf’s presence with an even more impassioned plea for the sheep to escape the impending doom that’s about to befall them. However, they stand firm and go back to their grazing on the plush green grass beneath their feet.
Mumblings of,”Who is he to judge?” and, “As for me I’ll be praying for the wolf” can be heard among them as they reassure themselves of their peace and safety while the wolf takes them out one by one until there are none left.

The most severe enemy of sheep is the predator–the flesh-eating wild animal (indicated in Matthew 10:16 as a wolf). According to (Phillip) Keller, “Two [wild] dogs have been known to kill as many as 292 sheep in a single night of unbridled slaughter. Ewes, heavy in lamb, when chased by dogs or other predators will slip their unborn lambs and lose them in abortions. A shepherd’s loss from such forays can be appalling. One morning at dawn I found nine of my choicest ewes, all soon to lamb, lying dead in the field” (p. 37).
“On several occasions [cougars] came in among my sheep at night working terrible havoc in the flock. Some ewes were killed outright, their blood drained and livers eaten. Others were torn open and badly clawed…. Some had huge patches of wool torn from their fleeces. In their frightened stampede some had stumbled and broken bones or rushed over rough ground injuring legs and bodies.
“Yet despite the damage, despite the dead sheep, despite the injuries and fear instilled in the flock, I never once actually saw a cougar on my range. So cunning and so skillful were their raids they defy description” (pp. 108-9). And wolves are just as deadly.

Todd Bentley may claim to be restored and ready to restart his so called ministry, but is he bearing new fruit? It seems he is still focused on the angel. But which of his old angels is Mr. Bentley talking about? Is it the angel of restoration, or just “THE” angel? How about the angel that cut him open on the operating table? Maybe the angel that burned his hotel room down? Or is it Emma, the angel that mysteriously changed overnight from “she” to “he”? Or is it just the generic angels, angels, angels that he called down at Lakeland? There are so many, who can keep track?

“You know, I saw the Lord one time take a child that was about 14 , born in a total vegetable state, like I mean, I mean, no brain, just brain dead, and the child grew a brain, started walking, talking, I mean, absolutely everything, we got doctors, uh…everything, I mean it was just an absolute miracle…”
Then he finishes with “boom” and a creative miracle to be released on a young boy after praying for him to have a new brain, new brain, new brain. He then turns quickly around for the next person to pray for.
No use hovering around waiting for the creative miracle, especially if you start telling stories about new brains while being very, very careful not to say you have actual doctor’s evidence for such creative miracles like new brains (or 13 resurrections) which you don’t have evidence for.
Sound familiar?
Some false teachers/false miracle workers/wolves in sheeps clothing keep forgetting that familiar spirits are not very creative – they just lie and copy and deceive. This is why we are witnessing the same old head shaking, and hearing the same old lines in these circles.
Is there any new fruit coming from the restored Todd Bentley and the so called Morning Star Outpouring? Discerning sheep who are inspecting the fruit say yes, there is lots of fruit, but it’s all BAAAAAAAAAAAD fruit!

The watchmen have been sitting on the sidelines, waiting, hoping, praying. Most unfortunately, what we are beginning to see saddens us greatly. Not only has Mr. Bentley been taken under the wings of Rick Joyner, but slowly, subtly, he is winning back the trust of the shaken sheep. Therefore, it is necessary for this sheep to step back into this blog for a brief moment and write an open letter to the fans of Todd Bentley. Since Wolf Tracks still receives a steady amount of hits every day, my hope is that someone who is unaware of the spiritual wool that is being pulled over their eyes will read this and be led to the truth.
To the dear sheep who are following Mr. Todd Bentley,
Do you believe that this ‘anointed prophet and healer’ who fell into grievous sin last year is now being restored? Have you been told that his ministry will be put on hold until his restoration process is complete and he is ready to come back? Have you been told that he has repented and is making things right? And have you looked closely to see what the restored Mr. Bentley looks like thus far?
In regards to his ministry being put on hold, the truth is that even though Mr. Bentley is not speaking publicly yet (other than the Morning Star restoration video clips) his new ministry (Fresh Fire USA) is up and running. Not only is he teaching how to restore your spiritual prime from his website (as if that is something ‘you’ can ‘do’), right now his website is promoting his ‘August teaching bundles’ and his ‘September healing bundles.’ His old books are also being sold on-line. Cheat night? What a poor choice of words, unless his followers have so quickly forgotten about the ‘cheating’ that occurred while he was doing ministry on stage every day during the Florida “revival”, possibly even during the same month he brought his sick wife Shonnah and his children onto the stage and introduced them to the T.V. fans.
There are various other articles on both the website and the blog now, written by Mr. Bentley. As you browse and read them, you may be thinking that he sounds so mature and learned as he quotes Oswald Chambers and the Bible, as if he’s had his season with sin and he’s all grown up now, and it’s all okay. Do you believe him when he talks as if he knows, and is so near to, the Holy Spirit, while in the same breath he throws in a good word for false prophet Benny Hinn and tacks on a plug from his ‘ministry team’ for his old soaking CD ? “Knowing who He is requires spending time in His presence and getting to know Him on an intimate level. It is not at all unlike living with a person, such as a wife, husband, or sibling. It is a partnership and a fellowship; we confide, make decisions, encourage, and champion each other! This point might cause one to wonder which wife Mr. Bentley is comparing the Holy Spirit to, since he now is married to wife number two.

Are the precious gifts of the Holy Spirit something to be merchandized or taught? Does God not give His gifts to those who love Him for free? Why is Mr. Bentley selling manuals on how to learn healing, if it is a gift from God?
Oh, but he said he is not in ministry right now. Yes, we forgot.
So is this why he is also selling books by other teachers and prophets on his website? [ See here:

These include Patricia King and James Goll, TD Jakes, John Crowder and the new mystics, Kim Clement, and even John and Paula Sandford, who tapped into the Occult for their inner healing techniques. Todd Bentley’s website is also selling soaking music, as previously mentioned, to bring you into another realm through those portals that he so often taught about, where he g0t beamed up to have conversations with his angels and another Jesus with brown Bambi eyes.
Through this so called restoration, has he renounced any of these teachings and associations with snake oil salesmen and false prophets and unbiblical teaching? Has he publicly confessed? Has he made himself accountable to God alone?
While we can not judge his heart, we can see his actions and his choices, and we do know that he has put himself under the authority of Rick Joyner, the “inaccurate prophet” who has often made prophetical “mistakes” and values his claims of revelation knowledge above scripture. It is under this man that Todd Bentley is to be ‘restored’ at Morning Star Ministries.
The Bible explicitly warns us of this.
“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.” 2 Peter 2:1
If, after reading this, you still want to follow Todd Bentley, please consider this. When a man falls into grievous sin, if his heart is truly after God, like King David, will he not bow the knee to his Holy God and take his rightful position in the dirt, casting all before Him? Should he not weep before the Lord in brokenness and turn from himself? Would he not bare all, and come clean, forsaking all, fearing God and not man, to the point of even giving up trying to save face with his adoring fans? If not, has such a man truly died to himself? Would such a man white wash his current state of affairs and say he gets along with his wife even better now, to make it seem right? The wife he left while in the ‘ministry’? The mother of his children? Is such a man in any position to start teaching God’s Holy Word, or to profit from any previous supposed ministry or service to God? What would show the most respect to our Holy God? What actions would honor His Holy Name?
“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” Psalm 51:17
And what about those dear people in wheel chairs and on stretchers that came to the healing revival, the ones Bob Jones prophesied would get up on the stage in front of the TV cameras? Yes, the same ones who didn’t make the cut up onto the healing stage in Florida because they were too sick to parade on the platform? And what about their families whose hopes were dashed as they brought them back home in the same condition. What if their faith was crushed because they were told by the flamboyant Mr. Bentley to come down and get some, and they went home without a miracle? Even Todd Bentley’s shocking alchohol consumption (as stated by John Arnott of TACF) problem during these miracle crusades paled in comparison to these signs of a snake oil prophet/huckster whose bouncers passed the bucket every night for more gold. Have those things been addressed, or even confessed? Has this ‘anointed healer,’ whose sick wife was damaging his faith healer stage image, apologized for hurting the sheep and shaming the name of our precious Saviour? Or is it still about lies and money and cheat nights?
Barely a year after the whole mess was quickly tidied up, it appears that he is already profiting from his new ministry (which is supposedly on hold, remember?), thanks to Rick Joyner, the professional false prophecy ‘misunderstanding’ mop up man, for whom professional round table apology public relation sessions have been common place for decades.
So I ask you, all you faithful followers of Todd Bentley – is this what the Bible describes as good fruit, or is this the rotten fruit of the money tree? Do you believe what you are being told? Which shepherd are you going to follow?
“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” Matthew 7:20
Oh, precious sheep, if you truly belong to God, look to your Good Shepherd. He will never lie, abuse, or use you. He will never ask you to pay for His gifts. His prophecies always come true, because His Word is truth. Ask Him to show you the way, and follow Him today. Turn off the Morning Star webinars and turn to Jesus Christ, the way, the truth and the life. Listen to His voice today.

This Sheep’s Following the Shepherd – Baa Baa
This blog has been somewhat of a success, as far as small blogs go. It was a fluke. One day, on a whim, this sheep started a blog, intent on warning other sheep of some wolves in sheeps clothing that were causing a stir down in Florida. What I saw made me so terribly sad. Some listened, some agreed, some heeded the warning, some joined in warning others. But some got angry and ran away after the wolves. It’s been very difficult to watch. At times I could not bear to see any more footage of the Florida outpouring. I cannot count how many times I sat here weeping at the scenes before me. But the most difficult part has been trying to convince the sheeple that this move is not from God.
In the short time since this blog began, it’s had 86,520 total views. The busiest day was 1,591 on May 27. There have been 188 posts, and 727 comments.

Hopefully the things I’ve blogged have helped some lost or confused sheep out there, but things are slowing down. This is not the best blog lay out but Wolf Tracks was never intended to go on forever, and while the momentum lasted, it’s been a great platform to get the truth out. Even though many excellent blogs and ministries have linked here (bringing even more traffic), I’ve notice that the main reason people show up is to read about Todd Bentley. And lately, it looks like he’s not even that popular anymore. Yesterday was the lowest visitor count since Wolf Tracks began (down to 515), so I’m taking that as my cue to bow out gracefully. To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven (Ecc. 3:1). I know it’s short notice as Wolf Tracks isn’t even a hundred days old yet, so it will remain here for reference and will continue to accept comments, as it’s still getting plenty of hits, but since I don’t think it’s healthy for this sheep to follow wolves and their road shows around for the rest of my life, I’ve decided to call it quits. Besides, sheep were meant to follow shepherds, not wolves.
Thanks to all who have stopped by to encourage, exhort, and come along side. It’s been nice meeting you all. I’ve also found some very good blogs to feed on by the way. I wish you all well, but this sheep is tired of tracking the wolves. It’s time to get back on track and follow my Shepherd.

“A gentleman traveling in Syria, relates how he stopped to watch three shepherds who were at a well watering their flocks. The three flocks were all mingled together at the watering place. Kids in Ministry International (www.kidsinministry.com) is a prophetic apostolic ministry for kids. They are the ones that have Jesus Camp. If you go to their website and click on their blog (I have not linked to them because quite often these things disappear when they are brought into the light) you can read the June 9 entry called The “Bam” Went Inside Me, Grandma! that says:
And oh, by the way, a grandmother brought her 3 1/2 yr old grandaughter to meet me at the Ramp. She told me they’ve been watching Todd Bentley revival meetings every night on TV. She said whenever Todd says to pray, the little girl walks over to the TV set and lays her hand on the screen. Then whenever Todd prays for people and says “Bam!” (you have to know that’s Todd’s nonreligious trade mark!) the little girl will shout “Bam!” along with him. One night she went running back to her grandma saying, “Grandma, I felt the ‘Bam’ go inside of me!” If you have any awesome stories about your kids and revival, please let us know.

Have you been following the revival with Todd Bentley in Lakeland, FL? There have been some amazing things happening in and through children. There was a testimony of a 12 yr old girl in England who had an open vision of angels while whe was watching the tv broadcast. She could see them pouring oil and gold on the people and Todd and towards the end the angels avctually started interacting with her through the tv!
Another little girl also had an open vision after being healed and began prophesying that she saw children praying over kids who were in comas and they came out of it, and saw dead being raised, and more. This was an extremely intense audio clip. I hope I can get it on our website soon.
On their blog they also mention The Ramp (theramp.org), which is about the ‘army of God’ that is arising and a generation that is awakening (Lou Engle and Karen Wheaton are some of the names involved).
The concern here, as anyone can see, is for the lambs – the children and youth who are being trained to experience the same strange manifestations we have been seeing at the Lakeland outpouring.

Double Dipping the Sheep
Some people have recently mentioned that Todd Bentley’s revival has to be of God because he recently baptized people in the name of Jesus. So let’s take a look at this baptism night on the following youtube video:

Just before the 2 minute mark into this video an Asian girl comes to Todd Bentley to be baptized. She is screaming and Todd says, “She’s under that anointing already…(shakes and groans aaaahhhh)… it’s the ancients…we baptize her tonight in the name of the Father, Son and Holy BAM! (screaming continues)”
I replayed this many times over and am quite sure that he actually said “It’s the ancients.” Now what on earth did that mean? Some might propose that it is the spirit in Todd recognizing the spirit in this girl. One must ask, who is ancient? The young girl is not ancient. But demons have been around for a long time. (Note: he also might just be saying “It’s the Asians.”)
As he continued to ‘bam’ people into the water, even double dipping to ‘get that head under’, he accidentatlly dunked the interpreter (oops). He then continued to bam bam bam more shaking convulsing people with more double dunking before throwing the interpreter in a few more times with bam bam, for good measure.
If you think that was bad, there is more double dipping and triple bamming in this youtube video where a young man from Todd’s church in Abbotsford B.C. Canada is baptized, followed by a disturbing manifestation which one does not usually see happen in a baptismal tank:
Others may have already examined this issue, but having not watched these videos before, I found it completely shocking. Not only is this sad, it is absolutely terrible. Baptism is an act of obedience to follow Jesus that is not to be taken lightly. It is a symbolic burial of dying to oneself and beginning a new life in Christ. It is a sign of repentance, and a drastic change – so much so that the old person is “buried” as a testimony of what has happened inwardly. Baptism accompanies a sincere confession of the person’s faith and an admission that they have died to sin and the world. The person being baptized must understand what they are doing – committing themselves to Jesus Christ as Lord. Otherwise it will be meaningless. It could even spiritually harm a person who does this without fully understanding, giving them a false security that now they are ‘in.’
Crazy manifestations aside, if you listen to the reasons that people are getting baptized on the above videos, and the attitude of their baptizer, it appears that not one of these sheep being dipped in Todd’s pool (drunk tank) of ‘fire water’ has understood the true meaning of baptism. It is also evident that Todd himself does not understand the seriousness of this act.

Who are you following?
Sheep, are you following those who are Christ-like? As the prophesied Messiah, these are some of the qualities of Jesus:
– The Servant Messiah would be humble and meek and it is clear that He is an individual rather than the nation of Israel as a whole.
– He will not be a bragger or a show-off, but on the contrary He will be quiet and gentle.
– He will not use loud and angry arguments to win hearts.
– He would be careful not to bruise anything fragile or weak, such as any broken-hearted souls or weak believers, or anyone that has been crushed by sin or calamity.
– The “smoking flax” speaks of something that is just about to go out, like the expiring wick of an oil lamp. By giving His Words of life and true religion He will cause the dying flame to be re-fueled and lit again to burn brightly.
– The Servant Messiah would not be condemning in His tone of voice. He would always encourage and lift up the weak and feeble sinner.
If you are following a pastor or teacher who does not have these qualities, or point you to this Jesus, take a closer look. He could very well be a wolf in sheeps clothing pointing you to another Jesus.

Slain Sheep Sues Church

Man sues Tenn. church over spiritual fall

Now he wants Lakewind Church to pay $2.5 million for medical bills, lost income, and pain and suffering.
Matt Lincoln says he is suing after the church’s insurance company denied his claim for medical bills.
The 57-year-old has had two surgeries since the June 2007 injury but still feels pain in his back and legs.
He says he was asking God to have “a real experience” while praying.
Lincoln says he has fallen from the force of the spirit before but has always been caught by someone.
Lawyers for the church say other congregants saw him on the floor laughing after his fall. They say he failed to look out for his own safety.
Sheep! Do not go there!
Just because pastors and Christians who have been there SAY there is nothing unbiblical or unscriptural at this revival, does that mean there is nothing unbiblical or unscriptural at this revival?

More Disappearing Trails
If you have ever observed the tracks left behind by sheep, you would know that a sheep’s foot print looks very different than a wolf foot foot print. This is why wolves in sheeps clothing need to continually cover their tracks, otherwise the sheep will know that there are wolves among them in the sheep pen. Let’s take a look at some recent tracks that have been covered up on the disappearing trail…
We all heard about the disappearance of Todd Bentley’s references to his angel Emma, who became simply that “particular” angel as his story was changed (see Todd Bentley, Is he now ashamed of his angel Emma?).
But that is not the only thing that is being changed as Christian bloggers expose what is going on behind the scenes while wolves in sheeps clothing tip toe around in the sheep pen, trying to act like sheep.
For example:
The godtube video of Todd Bentley at The Secret Place in Abbotsford, B.C., as referred to in the post called
Following the Tracks (Part 2)- from Abbotsford to Lakeland and Around the World, has disappeared.
Here is another one. After being up for a long time, the youtube video of Mark Virkler teaching how to hear the voice of God through automatic writing/channelling (as recently referred to in a post called Todd Bentley Responds to Criticism) has suddenly disappeared. In the video, Virkler sat down and typed out a message on the spot from God for his interviewer in a cheap display of “hear God guaranteed” on demand, not unlike putting coins into a soda pop dispenser. This was an important video as Virkler’s spiritual advisor is Dr. Gary Greig, whose widely publicized endorsement Freshfire uses to legitimize Todd Bentley and the false Florida revival.
Then there’s the strange phenomena of shifting articles. Take for example the glory cloud revelation (Todd’s vision of Sundar Singh) as referred to in Todd Bentley and Contemplative Meditation.The link to this vision account disappeared. It was later discovered that it was simply changed on the Freshfire website shortly after many discernment blogs had linked to it.
Then there’s this one which deserves a longer explanation. A recent article on Wolf Tracks that got a lot of traffic and referals was called LECTIO DIVINA – Leading Sheep to a New Level of Consciousness. While I was writing this article, I copied and pasted the words from a page on the Youth Specialties website that was written by Mike Perschon. In the article, Pershon mentioned the four levels of consciousness achieved through practicing Lectio Divina.
This is what I wrote in the Lectio Divina article (the words in quotation marks were copied and pasted from Mike Perschon’s article, as were the four steps of consciousness, or so I thought):
Mike Perschon of Youth Specialties compares the four steps of Lectio Divina to “four levels of consciousness…which introduces you at each new level into a whole new world of reality” that occurs through the four levels of repetitious reading:
1- LITERAL LEVEL CONSCIOUSNESS
2- Moral level of consciousness
3- the Allegorical level which requires a Spiritual level of listening
4- We simply rest in the presence of the one who has used His word as a means of inviting us to accept His transforming embrace. We call this level, Union of Life or the unitive level of consciousness.

The reference to these steps can no longer be found as the Youth Specialties article is no longer there. All you will get if you click on the link now is the OOPS page. Nevertheless, whether it has disappeared or not, Mike Perschon himself commented on Wolf Tracks under my article on Lectio Divina and did not disagree with these steps or the practise of Lectio Divina. Here is what he said:
“I’d just like to clarify that I’ve been misquoted here. I didn’t write the website regarding the four steps. I was asked by Youth Specialties to do an introductory article on various contemplative practices, and I linked to certain pages I deemed to represent the practice well. I didn’t write it though. That said, I don’t disagree with it, and I would like to further clarify by saying that I do not espouse Lectio Divina as THE way to knowing Christ. As an academic and former pastor, I am devoted to studying the Bible within its contexts, and understanding it in a very rational way. But I find that Lectio Divina enlarges my experience of the Bible. It’s one of many tools I use in my walk with Christ. And I’m not suggesting it replaces grace, as some have supposed elsewhere.”
We would like to give Perschon the benefit of the doubt, but as it is interesting that while Perschon says he was misquoted, he admittedly does NOT disagree with these 4 levels of consciousness. It’s difficult to check back to read exactly what he said because the page is now blank, and the article that I used to pull his quote from has been shifted over. It has been moved, and given a new URL…

Apparently missing from the article is the reference to the 4 levels of consciousness, however, the link to Cell of Peace remains. Perhaps I copied and pasted incorrectly? Could be. But then, how can this ever be proven? Is the moral of the story to copy/paste/save everything we find? Who has time for that?
The point of bringing these particular things to light is this. Why would Mike Perschon say he was misquoted, but also say that he agrees with the quote anyways? Is he feeling bad about leading youth to a new level consciousness instead of leading them to the truth? Is he sort of covering his tracks?
In another Youth Specialties article Mike Perschon wrote (here):
Morton Kelsey refers to the experience of contemplative prayer in all its forms as entering a “laboratory for the soul.” While this phrase entices me with its sense of adventure, it frightens most believers. For too long, evangelical Christianity has packaged faith in safe bundles.
I’m sorry Mike Perschon, but the reason this “frightens” most believers is that this is not of God, and the only “safe” place to be is under the shelter of His wings. He is our strong tower. This is why we must stay away from practices that might open our minds up to the darkness of the spirit realm and doctrines of demons, but you are leading youth away from God, in this mad laboratory experiment devised by Satan, and into darkness.
In conclusion, there will surely be more covered tracks as the delusion unfolds and sticky web of apostasy is woven. In the meantime, some might say, why bother with all this, let’s just read God’s Word and stick to the truth. While this is very VERY good advice, and I totally agree, God’s Word also instructs us to reprove and expose what is in the darkness.

There have been many comments left on this blog. Most of them are supportive and are made by discerning sheep who know their true Shepherd. Is this how a humble servant of the Lord operates under the power of the Holy Spirit? Do those who shepherd and feed the flock speak like this? Do they ‘mess around with’ the sheep, bam them, kick them, knee them in the stomach and head butt them? Todd Bentley does.

Think about this for a moment, and then think about what Todd Bentley said to the girl in the “Blah Blah” clip. He wasn’t done “messin’ around with her yet.” Is the Holy Spirit violent? Does He ‘mess around’ with us? Or does he gently woo us, guide us, teach us, comfort us, and lead us into all truth (as He is the Spirit of truth)?

The Good Shepherd
It’s not healthy for sheep to keep their eyes on wolves and their tracks. While we are instructed to be alert, we sheep need to keep our eyes fixed on the Shepherd.
Here is some recommended nourishment and rest for sheep who are weary of watching for wolves…

Learn how to Identify Wolves
The following is an excerpt from an article called Discernment in an Age of Deception – Defining the Believer’s Biblical Call to Judge by Bob DeWaay:
It is important to see that the wolves come from two sources: outside and inside the church. Wolves are always inimical to the well-being of sheep. It is the responsibility of shepherds to make sure the sheep are safe from the wolves. To do this, the wolves must be identified. The way they are identified is through their teachings. Paul described the practice of the wolves: “speaking perverse things.” The word “perverse” means “twisted” or “distorted.” Their teachings are a distortion of the authoritative teachings of Christ and His apostles. Anyone is a wolf who purposely gives distorted teaching and refuses to repent when shown his error from the Scriptures. The elders must guard the flock against such people.
Notice what happens through the teachings of the wolves: they “draw away the disciples after them.” False teachers and prophets have a message that comes from themselves, not from the whole counsel of God. The reason these wolves draw disciples away after themselves is that they are the only source of this teaching. If the church is proclaiming the true terms of the covenant and the whole counsel of God, whatever “perverse” doctrine is being promoted by wolves will not be heard from the faithful pastors and elders. Perverse doctrine cannot be found through valid implications from authoritative Scripture. Therefore, if the wolves succeed in giving some of the sheep an appetite for what they are offering, the sheep will have to follow the wolves to get that appetite fed. Since this is not from God, they are being drawn away from the true sheepfold and into spiritual peril and perhaps damnation.
