Sheep Dip
If you were to track Todd Bentley even further back to 2001, you would find him driving one of his sheep/followers who was in a wheelchair through “a fire tunnel” – something he calls “a sheep dip.” When she came out the other side, she had a brand new eye ball. Remarkably, this amazing miracle never made it into the 2001 Edition of Ripley’s Believe it or Not.

At an international healing conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota in October 2001, a woman testified to an incredible instant healing of her blind eye. As a child her eye had been severely damaged when her brother shot it out with a BB gun. The doctor had to reconstruct her eye using silicon and part of a cadaver. I was one of several guest speakers and the miracle took place over several days as she sat in the healing atmosphere. I can’t think of one individual who specifically prayed for this creative miracle. In fact, because this woman was in a wheel chair, I and many others were actually praying that God would raise her up from her wheelchair. Then, at one meeting, she passed through a “fire tunnel” (actually a sheep dip). When she came out the other side, God had recreated her eyeball. When she went to visit the doctor, he was so confounded by the fact that she had a creative miracle in her eye that he called in five other doctors to examine her. They were all totally amazed after concluding that a woman who had her eye reconstructed with a cadaver and silicon could now see with perfect 20/20 vision.[…]

Aside from the fact that real “sheep dips” are extremely toxic to humans and contaminate surrounding soil, perhaps it is time that people start asking Todd Bentley to track down authentic medical records to back up his bizarre claims. Maybe someone should call Oprah so she could include Todd Bentley in her current series of New Age tall tales.
Back Tracking Bentley
Near the end of 2005, Todd Bentley decided to take a sabbatical. He began stepping back into the ministry in May of 2006. (Possible related item of interest: Todd Bentley: Why was he out of ministry for about a year?) Bentley said that as he was praying about taking steps back into ministry, the Lord spoke to him “very clearly about a day of new beginnings and new anointing.”
If you were to track Todd Bentley’s post sabbatical trail of ‘new anointing’ you would have found him at the Living in the Supernatural Conference with Rick Joyner, James Goll & Ryan Wyatt:
“At this conference Todd Bentley ministered publicly for the first time since going on sabbatical. Hear the incredible revelations and deep workings of God Todd shared about as he stepped back into the pulpit at the conclusion of his Sabbatical.”
In October, 2007, you would have found him at the Worship and Warfare Conference where once again he was on the speaker list with Rick Joyner of Morning Fellowship Star Church.

James Goll, author of The Seer, is another one who sees flying angels. He also teaches contemplative practices, like the third phase of contemplative prayer – spiritual ecstasy and spiritual drunkenness, the state of being inebriated in God’s presence. Was it really God who spoke very clearly to Todd Bentley about his new anointing? Can this really be the Holy Spirit? Would God’s anointing truly lead one of His sheep to keep company with wolves in sheeps clothing like James Goll and Rick Joyner?

Saturday Morning: This session Todd Bentley focused on “the secret place of the Most High” from Psalm 91. He emphasized that we can’t dwell in the secret place unless we have a revelation of the Most High. In addition, to enter the secret place we need to leave behind all the distractions of the outer court – the place of sacrifice, distractions of the mind, guilt and shame by making a decision to enter. He said as we walk past the inner court of illumination, intercession, healing and deliverance, we go through to the Holy Place, that place of silent awe where self focus and even prayer cease. Few Christians, he said, ever get into that Holy Place of awe, splendor and majesty. During the session he unpacked the following powerful scriptures: Psalm 27:4-5; Psalm 31:20 and Psalm 84:1,2. Todd concluded by saying that real prayer involves leaving the busyness and resting in silence

This is what he saw:
“…in a vision, the Glory Cloud of Revelation descending upon the church. It was also during this time of prayer that God took me in a vision to what I believed to be the Himalayan Mountains. I saw an Indian man with a turban on his head and heard the whisper of the Spirit say, “This is Sundar Singh. I am releasing anointing of revelation like this.” I had no communication with this old saint, nor did he say anything to me. The experience lasted only a moment….”

THE CHRISTIAN CONTEMPLATIVE TRADITION (LECTIO DIVINA)
Sundar Singh spent at least two hours daily in reading the Scriptures, meditation and prayer. He would arise at 5:00 am and finish by 7:00 or 8:00 depending on what his schedule was for the day. He often spent the whole day or night in prayer. His discipline was to read one chapter of the Bible, rapidly at first reading, then to return to reread passages or verses that were more suggestive to him. These he would linger with and meditate on for as long as it was fruitful for him to do so. Next, he would enter into a period of “recollection” for twenty minutes or so. This was a time of silence, in which he would allow the Lord to speak to him in some way. With his own mind and heart quieted, he opened his mind and his heart to hear what the Lord would have to say to him or just simply enjoy companionship with his Lord. Often this period of silence would extend into a deeper state called “contemplation” in which he enjoyed complete rest and refreshment in the love of God.
Often during times of contemplation, he entered into experiences of ecstasy. He regarded these experiences as the same as St. Paul’s entrance into the “third heaven”. During his latter years, they occurred frequently, as often as ten times a month. About these experiences he said, “I never try to go into ecstasy; nor do I advise others to try. It is a gift to be accepted, but it should not be sought; if given, it is a pearl of great price.”
Anyone who contemplates the heavenly calling of the apostle Paul and his being caught up into the third heaven, and again into Paradise, will lift up his voice to God and say: Glory to God who surely gives great gifts to men!
THE FOUR R’s OF THE CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL LIFE
This key is one of the most important tools if we are to see an increase of wisdom and revelation in our lives. In the western Christian tradition, meditation refers to thinking about or the use of the imagination around a passage of scripture, whereas, in India, traditional meditation refers to silencing one’s thoughts. The Christian tradition practices the silencing of thoughts and emotions, but it is called “contemplation” rather than “meditation”. This is one of those unfortunate twists of semantics, which has caused confusion when discussing the spirituality of East and West.
Sundar Singh practiced a sequence of prayer discipline that is identical to ancient Christian monastic disciplines: reading the scriptures, meditation on a passage of the reading (also called response of the mind and heart), recollection, and rest. This sequence is also called lectio divina in Latin. It means divine reading, or more precisely, divine listening, since few people in that day could actually read.
Why would God give his children a vision of a contemplative who combined the East and West in his meditative disciplines? Is this where Todd Bentley’s ideas about visions, spirituality, and ‘soaking’ prayer are coming from?

Following the Tracks (Part 2)- from Abbotsford to Lakeland and Around the World
At the beginning of this year, Todd Bentley spoke at Secret Place 2008 in his hometown of Abbotsford, B.C., Canada.
How disappointing to see that (at about 5 minutes into this video clip) Abbotsford’s own Brian Doerksen provided the worship music. Some of us were hoping to see more discernment from him.
Todd Bentley’s Prophetic Direction from the Lord for 2008 involves “a certain shift that has come to pass concerning the secret place. Namely, there is a whole lot more involved in the secret place than just coming into God’s presence to rest, soak and marinade, as good as that is. We’re shifting! In fact we need to shift; and it’s into something much deeper…being transformed…to the point that we actually become a resting place for the Lord.”
Is it any coincidence that others are also talking about a paradigm Shift in the spiritual realm? Such as the Willow Creek Shift, Brian McLaren’s Deep Shift, and Oprah, Eckhart Tolle and the New Age Shift, for starters. It’s all about a New Age shift in concsciousness. Just google some of those terms and you will see.
Todd Bentley, who was recently in Australia, will soon leave the “revival” meetings in Florida, shift into another gear and make tracks around the globe. Here are a few of his next stops:

Here you can hear about Todd Bentley’s hallucination while in Seattle of being beamed up (abducted?) through a pillar of fire “portal” to an operating table in heaven with two angels on either side of the table, they saw him in half, his guts pop out, and they stuff him with boxes. Then all his friends go back to the hotel and get caught up into visions (such as skiing on the mountain of the Lord, being consumed by fire, etc.). Then the angel comes in the hotel room and everyone smelled the smoke, which eventually led to the two hotel rooms above them literally burning down a few hours later. Now nobody wants to take a room near Todd Bentley’s room. Todd says it was the angel in Revelation 10. Here is the link:

Todd Bentley and the Angel called Promise:
AN ANGEL CALLED PROMISE
Recently, I had an angel come to me in Kansas City. He said, “Todd, my name is Promise, and I’ve come to bring the fulfillment of God’s promises. I’ve come to bring the fulfillment of the prophetic words spoken to intercessors. I have come for those who have been like Hannah-they have prayed, waited and carried a promise in their hearts. There will come a time when God has heard and I will release the Samuel,” Be encouraged-there is an angel called promise that is involved in bringing your intercessory breakthrough. When this angel comes into my meetings people get breakthrough and answered prayers. Look at the description of this angel in Revelations 8:1-6:

On certain occasions, the angel of Promise has come into meetings where I was speaking to bring people delayed answers to prayers. In some cases, the very next day, in answer to prayers people have prayed for and waited on for years, breakthrough will come. People will get healed, financial breakthrough will come or miracles will begin to take place.
Todd Bentley and the Angel called Emma:

Now let me talk about an angelic experience with Emma. Twice Bob Jones asked me about this angel that was in Kansas City in 1980: “Todd, have you ever seen the angel by the name of Emma?” He asked me as if he expected that this angel was appearing to me. Surprised, I said, “Bob, who is Emma?” He told me that Emma was the angel that helped birth and start the whole prophetic movement in Kansas City in the 1980s. She was a mothering-type angel that helped nurture the prophetic as it broke out. Within a few weeks of Bob asking me about Emma, I was in a service in Beulah, North Dakota. In the middle of the service I was in conversation with Ivan and another person when in walks Emma. As I stared at the angel with open eyes, the Lord said, “Here’s Emma.” I’m not kidding. She floated a couple of inches off the floor. It was almost like Kathryn Khulman in those old videos when she wore a white dress and looked like she was gliding across the platform. Emma appeared beautiful and young-about 22 years old-but she was old at the same time. She seemed to carry the wisdom, virtue and grace of Proverbs 31 on her life.
She glided into the room, emitting brilliant light and colors. Emma carried these bags and began pulling gold out of them. Then, as she walked up and down the aisles of the church, she began putting gold dust on people. “God, what is happening?” I asked. The Lord answered: “She is releasing the gold, which is both the revelation and the financial breakthrough that I am bringing into this church. I want you to prophecy that Emma showed up in this service-the same angel that appeared in Kansas city-as a sign that I am endorsing and releasing a prophetic spirit in the church.”

Todd Bentley and the Angel that carries the “Winds of Change”:
…the second night of the Lakeland meetings…he said he saw an angel he described as carrying the “Winds of Change.”
Asking him to describe this angel, Bentley replied that those familiar with the life of William Branham would recognize the angel from being a relevant factor in his healing ministry. He felt that this angel’s appearance signaled a “shift in the atmosphere” for the meetings and felt that an openness for revival had been ushered in.

He prays that a drunken glory will move across the whole place…smoking glory, in all the colours, in the cloud, thick overwhelming honey glory…and then he has mini jerking ‘seizures’ and starts laughing at around 8:40 (drunk in the spirit?).
Oh parents who are at these meetings in Florida…guard your children from these angels and from this man!
Is this the manifestation of the Holy Spirit? Or could it be it the awakening of kundalini?
We must test the spirits or, as Todd Bentley says, these Angels that manifest themselves. The following is an extremely eye-opening excerpt from a book called True To His Ways regarding the danger of this particular practice of Todd Bentley:
Well-known charismatic Todd Bentley, who claims to receive frequent visitations from angels, travels widely for “Catch the Fire” events to impart occult visions in shaktipat-type practices. He writes voluminously on the topic, and has posted many articles on the Web. In one such article he writes:
So I’m asking God to release the seer anointing to you as you read this article so that you can even see the angelic hosts. Today I want to focus the teaching on the angelic realm and how you can release angels to fulfill God’s word. Recently, I had several daily visitations of angels which lasted for weeks. Since the beginning of this year I’ve also sensed an increase in the presence of angels in our meetings.[5]
Mr. Bentley visited a church in North Dakota and reportedly imparted paranormal perception to the pastor’s wife. The pastor wrote:
After that power packed evening [with Todd Bentley], Julie testified that the prophetic gifting of the Holy Spirit began to operate in a new dimension. Tuesday evening she saw the church surrounded with angels and even heard them singing with the congregation during worship![6]
While in a trance Julie both heard and saw angels, demonstrating siddhi-like powers of clairaudience and clairvoyance. Similar occult visions were reported by others at a “Catch the Fire” event in Tucson, Arizona, featuring Gary and Kathi Oates. Mr. and Mrs. Oates are reportedly so advanced in siddhi-like power that “God’s presence invaded the auditoriums each time Gary and Kathi ministered.”[7] Here is the testimony of a young woman who attended this event:
I felt the Lord was saying that we (our homegroup) should ask Him to open our eyes and our ears. I asked…then forgot all about it until Friday…in church I was so moved by the presence of the Lord that I went to the back and knelt down… sobbing. Soon, I saw an angel in the doorway blowing a cool breeze over the church and knew his job was to reawaken a hunger and recognition of the presence of the Lord. Next I saw an angel on either side of the first, and these were blowing trumpets, but I understood their message to be “Prepare the way for a Holy Lord”. I’m still so touched by the increased ability to see and hear and I want more.[8]
The angelic message in the above testimony sounds biblical and reverent. But consider the occult elements. Enchanted by a presence brought by empowered leaders, unmotivated weeping, paranormal seeing: could it be that this woman really saw and heard an angel from God? Of course not. First, it came as a result of occult practice; that alone is reason enough to reject it. But we see also that this “angel” is not teaching the Jesus of the gospel who comes through the word of truth. It teaches an occult Jesus who comes by invocation and manifest presence, and imparts siddhi-like powers. Next, angels do not awaken our hunger for God; this is the work of the Holy Spirit. And last, Scripture teaches that not only will demons pretend to worship the Lord, they can and will declare His deity, and even proclaim His work of salvation. The demon that Paul cast out of the prophetess in Philippi caused her to announce his mission as God’s servant to declare the way of salvation. Every word she spoke was true. But Paul was not pleased, and clearly discerned
the demonic source (see Acts 16:16-18). We must not be fooled by pious appearances.

The sheep who follow Todd Bentley are eating up every word that he says about angels, yet they are forgetting that the Bible has warned us about angels:
“For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministersalso transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.” 2 Cor. 14, 15
Be careful sheep! Angels (and so called shepherds) are not always what they appear to be:
“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.” Matthew 7:15

This is exactly word for word what was spoken over Todd Bentley (from Fresh Fire Ministries) at the “Downpour Conference” on the Gold Coast in Australia, on March 8, 2008, by Pastor Rob DeLuca from New Zealand:
Todd, I saw a vision, and it’s concerning four revivals that are going to take to place in the world.
I saw a human boomerang flying out of Canada and it hit the nation of England, it hit the nation of Australia, it hit the nation of New Zealand, and it came spinning around.
I saw “Todd Bentley”–your name on the boomerang, but I knew that it was the Lord showing me that it was you, and I saw it fly back around and it came and hit America.
But, there was a bit more accuracy to it. It hit the state of Florida. The Lord is showing me that what took place in Pensacola, and also what took place in Lakeland with Rodney–you’re gonna bring something very strong to Florida.
I see something BIG in Florida. Then I saw the Lord turning you into a human nail, you know, like a spike nail. I saw the hand of God, I saw the Father hit this hammer and it hit you and it went straight into the ground of Florida.

I just spoke with Bob Jones again, and he told me several things. First, he was not expecting that the glory would fall this soon.
Second, Bob said the angel named “Winds of Change,” is bringing the change NOW, and that this outpouring would break out internationally. He said this outpouring, the very tangible healing anointing, is for the world and would go everywhere. (God told me that every night in the meetings I was to impart it to ministries, and as I write this, several hundred pastors, evangelists and ministries have already come.)
Third, Bob said, and I agree, we have never seen such notable miracles. (Distinctively, scars and burn marks have been removed from bodies, and there are testimonies coming in of cancers, tumors, deaf ears, diabetes, lupus, autism, and a vast array of other sicknesses and diseases, all being healed. I’m talking hundreds of healings so far! There are dramatic salvations, and heavenly visitations especially coming to the children.)

Todd Bentley is not exactly your grandmother’s evangelist, but that didn’t stop grandmothers from lining up to get prayer from the 32-year-old preacher last week when he opened his 14th straight night of revival meetings in Lakeland, Fla. People of all ages—including plenty of retirees with bad backs and partial deafness—crammed into the 700-seat Ignited Church to watch Bentley pray for the sick and to hear testimonies from the healed.
“If you need a miracle in your body, stand up!” Bentley shouted, waving his tattooed arms over the crowd. “There is healing in the atmosphere! Sometimes people feel fire or heat. It’s Jesus!”
The audience was pumped. Many had been coming to the meetings since April 2, when a four-day conference began and then zoomed into overdrive. Others had just arrived in Lakeland from out of state after hearing reports of the revival on the Internet. The night I attended, host pastor Steve Strader said more than 90,000 people had watched the meetings online.
“Tumors are going to be pulled out of people’s bodies tonight,” Bentley announced with a grin. “It’s gonna pop tonight!”
BUT…are these the footprints of a prophet, or the tracks of a wolf?
