Outpourings from the mouths of the Florida sheep

There have been many comments left on this blog. Most of them are supportive and are made by discerning sheep who know their true Shepherd. Others are supportive of the person who has brought the revival to Florida. Here is just a sampling of the comments which have been pouring out of those sheep who support and have been filled to over flowing with the Florida outpouring…

“I find it sad to read that christians attack each this way. I really miss the love on such a such. Does the Bible not say that we are not to judge?”

“So then if Mr. Bently is of Satan and not of Jesus Christ then “No One” is being healed? If what is going on there is not true revival than what is. Does Jesus heal today or is all of this fake. How can the devil cast out the devil?”

“alot of the negitivity thats coming out of this revival is plan ignorance. Everytime God tries to get something to people they want to make it demonic. I know the anointing when I see it Todd has it.”

“I just want to say that I have never heard such ignorant statements in all my life. You people are so wrong about the Lakeland revival.Have you ever even stepped your foot inside the revival tent to actually experience what is going on there?IF you would have been listening you would have heard them say (in one of the meetings)that they have been going out EVERYDAY into the streets and taking the word AND MIRACLES out side of the walls of the church. But instead, you are to hasty to jump to conclusions and say (oh it ain’t God). How come you don’t say that about churches that are permanantly established in the area?(or maybe you do)!Personally,I think you’re just jellous! Why don’t you quit whinning and persecuting and start praying and supporting them.MAYBE God has showed them something that He has’nt shown you because you have to much pride and are not willing to humble yourself and pay the kind of price that they are paying.I just hope you get your heart right with God and quit having a pitty party.Repent and ask God to forgive you and He will. Then you can go to the meetings and have a good time in the anointing of God’s Holy Spirit.”

“stop with all the self glorified comments and pointless bickering.”

“Repent of not even praying for the sick, repent for your unbelief that the dead are raised, repent of being afraid of diseases let alone clensing leapers, repent of reducing the gospel to words of human wisdom with no power. Does your gospel have power to transform lives, deliver from demonic oppression, set people free from drug additions. It’s easy to be critical, it’s another thing to love unconditionally those you don’t have a grid for.”

“are all the miracles false? Are all the people who invite Jesus into their hearts not saved? Just because someone thinks about, imagins, visualizes…does not automatically mean that it is wrong just because you say so. When you pray, what do you think of? A blank black screen? Please tell me! Could that be worse? Let’s see, I could say that you are “visualizing” a black place. I demand that you tell me what you think about when you pray!
… I would repent of this if I were you as the Lord has shown me that people who speak against this highest form of this movement, the glory of God revival, could experience an immediate judgement. I would be careful if I were you of offending the Lord.
Todd Bentley has only lifted up the name of Jesus and prayed for people’s healings. And guess what, they have been healed in Jesus name! Like you, the pharisees had no answer for Jesus who, also like your view of Todd, did not fit into their doctrinal box. They were left with only one option: to call what Jesus did demonic. You are straining at a gnat and swallowing a camel here. Good luck when you get to the hump! And good luck also when you stand before the Lord and have to answer to criticizing a great move of God where perhaps hundreds of thousands of are receiving Jesus as their Saviour.”
“people like you guys on this blog remind me of the pharisee’s in Jesus’ day. As matter as fact Jesus called them “you brood of vipers”.
…there were some in Jesus’ day that were convinced that He was not the son of God but exactly opposite. they said he must be a devil if He can cast out devils.
…you are the type of people that bash EVERY single man or woman of God that comes down the pike. if you dont agree with this man, fine, but keep it to yourself.”

“i dont understand how you can watch and hear of the wonderful things GOD is doing and be so negative?
Does God inspire you to right these?”

“His laughter is not “Mocking God” have you ever even listened to Todd Bentley? I know it is scary that he is passionate and has tattoo’s and piercings to some. Todd advocates praising God for breakthroughs and counting the cost to follow jesus. If you don’t believe in the supernatural, you might have to throw out your bible as well.”

“…I tell ya, When God shows up, get out of his way.. Jesus was not of this world and neither are we.. We are all spiritual beings who are living a natural life….. Todd is the bomb and God is alive and using him.. Leave him alone and concentrate on activating your church to transform this world… Learn about your gifts and if you get famous for loving Jesus, than good for you!!! …Shubba!
… sheepy weepy I guess its your job to find faults.. I’d like to know how many people you have personally led to Christ this year… thats just a challenging question directed prophetically at you! Todd, keep on burning hot for God, all the way… supporting you and your team…Bring on the Shunda Bunda Thunda! Matthew 12.. talks about the unforgivable sin.. Look out! …Sha! This exact thing happened with the Pharisees”

  1. I pray the Holy Spirit will open these people’s eyes.

There are a few of the comments you posted…the more lengthy ones, which are word for word, the same one’s i received and have seen posted elsewhere. It would appear some folks wrote out a defense for this event and Bentley, and just posted it on many blogs.

God bless you and your work here sheepy!

    Thanks pj,

Wow. Copy and pasted comments? Glad you caught that. And I’ve actually been responding to some of them?

  3. The intellect reflected in the comments coming out of Lakeland supporters is indicative of the market Todd Bentley is targeting and appealing to. Although I am sure someone could scrape up a PhD or two to dispute my observation.

These poor souls… It’s almost as if they lack the ability to think critically at all, therefore the experiential aspect of Lakeland is all they can manage to process.

Todd’s ability to conjure up this atmospheric energy “feels” like such a “trip” compared to what these people are used to that they are simply assuming that the whole thing must be from God.

It is interesting to me that this is the same group of people who will have no problem pronouncing the likes of you and I as people who are holding back the Kingdom of God and all the more that they COULD be experiencing if we were simply out of the picture.

These comments you have shared seem to be a prophetic glimpse into the future, at the likes of the very crowd of people that will one day be shouting and chanting; “Off with their heads!” as one by one the end-time Christian martyrs begin to fall.

    Loving The Word,

I’ve been thinking along those same lines today after I compiled those comments. Together they paint a picture of the mindset of these poor deluded sheep. Thank you for confirming my thoughts.

It’s sad, isn’t it? In a frightening way – like you say, if this is a glimpse of things to come.

    June 15, 2008 at 3:51 am

  5. Yes, it is sad, and it is also frightening, except that I am then reminded that fear is of the enemy alone and our God has already overcome! Hallelujah!

I’m also thinking of the verse, “To live is Christ and to die is gain.” I pray that if I am to ever face the likes of the early Christian martyrs that I would have the ability, by God’s grace and strength, to live out to my very last breath the fullness of that verse.

Father in heaven, grant us, your church, the strength and courage in our weakness to finish this race as You would have us to, that You alone would be glorified in our surrendering. ~Amen

  6. There is a rebellious angry spirit behind what Todd and many of his devotes say…You can sense it.

Its as though he has given starving people a meal, and though you show them the evidence that the food is poisoned, they don’t care; they are determined to eat it anyway.

Stay strong brothers. Times are growing increasingly darker as the apostasy grows, and we have to be steadfast.

What the folks who left those posts don’t understand is that Todd Bentley’s whole ministry revolves around extra-biblical revelation. When the sheep are willing to accept such things instead of God’s Word, error enters uncontested, and God’s Word loses it’s complete and final authority. With extra-biblical revelation, the prophecy delivered can’t be found in God’s Word…they say it’s something NEW! Without God’s Word for reproof, teaching, training, and correction, once the minister gains the trust of the people, he can introduce any damnable heresy he wishes, and they embrace it with as much fervor as they should God’s Word. Because the revelation itself is given authority, they don’t consult God’s Word to see if it is so, and they perish for lack of knowledge. There is no accountability when God’s Word is undermined and put aside.

In fact, I’ve always believed one of Satan’s strongest and most effective weapons against believers is to take God’s Word out of people’s hands and push it aside. Extra-biblical revelation does that. I pray they wake up!

  9. Chrystal,

You said, “once the minister gains the trust of the people, he can introduce any damnable heresy he wishes, and they embrace it with as much fervor as they should God’s Word.”

    I couldn’t agree more.

You also said, “one of Satan’s strongest and most effective weapons against believers is to take God’s Word out of people’s hands and push it aside. Extra-biblical revelation does that. I pray they wake up!”

I think you’re right again. That’s what Satan did in the garden with Eve. It worked then, so I’m sure he’s not about to stop that strategy now. If only we could truly learn from those who have gone before us. Why we have to keep making the same mistakes time and time again, generation after generation throughout the ages reveals one thing and one thing only; We need a Savior!

Thank you Jesus for saving us.

  10. Hi,

I too am receiving the same “cut and pasted” comments on my blog…thanks for pointing that out PJ!

    June 16, 2008 at 8:40 am

  11. There is something sadly ironic, but not surprising about these “cut and paste” comments. Do these people not have anything fresh to write about? Shouldn’t their “experiences” be leaving them with a plethora of words to share? Shouldn’t their vocabulary be exploding right about now as they supposedly have this “fresh fire” anointing of the Holy Spirit? Is the best that their false spirit can do for them is to inspire a cut and paste testimony? filled with anger and rebellion as pjmiller pointed out? I thought the FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT WAS LOVE, yet they are not LOVING. Yes, I would suggest this is yet another example that their experience is not of the True and Living God.

  12. This “revival” in Lakeland really concerns me. Some of these sheeple say it is of God. Yeah, it is and it’s most likely the beginnings of the powerful delusion that is spoken about in 2 Thes. 2:1-12. But not all of these people are from my home state, Florida. They fly in from everywhere. The difference is “loving the Truth.” That being said anyone should discern what is a counterfeit miracle and lying wonder. I for one believe all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for today…but not this and not the charismaniacs/cruisematics we see today. Just look at Benny Hinn. And consider Kenneth Copeland and what he taught concerning the Cross. Yeah, that right, I capitalized that in case someone reading this thought that is religious. What has Copeland taught? That Jesus while crucified didn’t pay for our sins on the Cross but when he went to the “lower regions” and was tormented in hell. His false doctrine and logic was based on a “revelation.” Any revelation or word of knowledge is subjective and is NOT equivalent to the Word of God. It may be a word, but not The Word. Anyone with their charismatic arrogance can mock that statement since I know how they think.

This concerns me since I see people I know going to this. One church actively feeds the homeless and so much so half the church is homeless while much of them were once homeless. They are reaching the least, the last, and the lost the regular church has no interest in…from what I can see.

What concerns me is this, to give an example: As we, about 7 people, were praying in a circle and interpreting tongues given, one person spoke and said “if you see what I see you would not be laughing, you would be mourning.” It’s like you could see a spiritual battle for us to pay attention and not start out with this laughter thing. I wasn’t going to say anything, I wanted them to see it. And since I didn’t say anything then I will later.

And the test is can you point things out to them? Will they listen, anyone who goes I mean. Do they love the Truth or not? That’s the crux of the matter. God will test us in this. I should of spoke up then instead of waiting to see if someone else would.

For anyone who has listened to Todd Bentley I have to ask this. Is he saying anything about Jesus being God—Adonai (where we get Lord from)—Jesus as being God in the flesh. Does he confess that Jesus came in the flesh? By that I mean the Word of God walked among us, that God Himself became man. Jesus being 100% God and 100% man, the Son of Man as he referred to Himself for anyone to know if they actually read the gospel accounts. Is Bentley preaching the gospel? And how is he doing that.

So it’s not a preaching/teaching revival? Has he ever! preached the gospel and confessed that Jesus the Messiah came from God and God in the flesh. Does Copeland? Or does he preach we are all little “gods” as I heard him say. This is a serious matter and yes I do believe miracles are for today.

The loaded language and catchphrase rejoinders are rife within the radical Charismatic camp. I love how quick the term ‘Pharisee’ is thrown around with absolutely no attention to biblical or historical-cultural context. Yes, God can’t be put in a box….but (as a good friend of mine is quick to say) He put himself in a body!! Jesus has definition to his character as he image of the invisible God–he has specific likes, dislikes, and expectations. Doctrine provides a marriage between the ‘who’ and the’what’ of our Savior.

    Your friend is brilliant!

“God can’t be put in a box…but He put himself in a body!”

    I love that!

I’ve had the ‘box’ and the ‘pharisee’ phrases thrown at me more times than I care to count.
