keeping a watchful eye on the wolves

About

The sheep…they weep…

28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

-Acts 20 (KJV)

Grevious wolves have entered in, and this weblog is going to follow the wolf tracks.

  1. Hi Sheepyweepy,

I could not agree more. Todd and most of the Elijah List gang are neo-gnostics bent on usurping the church and supplanting the authority of the Bible with mysticism and words from “angels”.

    Bravo!

I appreciate your efforts. A little constructive commentary: it would be far more helpful if you were to show WHY these things are not of God. To point to a lie and say that it is a lie may be good discernment, but the lie will not be cast down unless you shed the light of truth on WHY it is a deception. Not alal who read your blog have that discernment, and to those who do, what have you done? The only way to overcome the lies, deception and the darkness is with the truth.

I respect your efforts, but without the light of the why that casts the thing to the ground, it’s just more advertising and coverage for them, and while the issues may be obvious to you, the fact that so many are falling for it shows that it isn’t obvious for the undiscerning. Be their light.

If you would protect, arm them with the truth that casts down the lie that has snared them.

    Deborah,

    Thanks for your good advice.

While there are some excellent biblical articles and links included in some of the posts that will shed light on the truth, I will try to include more scripture in the future.

There are also some fine websites listed on the blogroll below that people can go to.

  4. I think you should give it a shot- actually view the revival for a week and maybe consider going. I was there, and found it to be totally opposite to what you wrote- the interesting thing is…. you could be using Scripture to fight Scripture- for example in Acts 2, you would probably use the same Matt 7:15 against Acts 2, judging by your tone. If you want to be totally fair and sincere, tune in for a week or two- but take care. Don’t take shots at leaders/people who actually have more ‘revival’ (the true Life of Christ) than yourself, more souls saved, more orphans helped and more widows helped in Africa. As an African missionary, I think you need to be fair, instead of just critical- for example anyone can have a blog that criticizes leaders… but few people actually go out and serve others. Anyone can tear a house down, but few carpenters can actually build a good house. This doesnt mean we should not use discernment- but please, lets not shoot our own brothers/ soldiers in Christ! Honestly, the way some people talk on the internet (supposed ‘Christians’) they would never want to be ‘talked about’ like that– or their family, friends or churches.

    John,

“the way some people talk on the internet (supposed ‘Christians’ ) they would never want to be ‘talked about’ like that– or their family, friends or churches.”

Peter and Paul would have been very unpopular bloggers by that standard…

If today’s false prophets want to be spoken of kindly and gently, perhaps they should stop giving all those false prophesies and talking about extra-biblical visitations and bizarre abductions into the third heaven.

Hey Greycoats, thanks for the link. 🙂

Dear Sir,A few years ago when I was a new Christian,I was actually pulled out of my seat by the preacher(Trevor Dearing)at a meeting to which I had been invited. This was completely out of the blue.I remember his exact words to this day (23 years later).Trevor said,”Don’t worry;God knows how much you love Him.God’s got something special for you,and He’s delivered you from your past religious experience”.With that,Trevor put his hands on my head and said,”I annoint you for the work of an evangelist”.The moment he said that I felt what I can only describe as a powerful but harmless force going through me,and I felt as though I didn’t weigh anything, and all my strength had gone.It was all I could do to stagger back to my seat where I had to sit down or fall down. This pleasant sensation remained with me until I went to sleep.Prior to this I’d had no experience of being ‘slain in the Spirit’ or being slain in anything else.I didn’t even know what Pentecostalism was.As an expert in these things, what do you make of this? Yours in the Lord,John Knight.

    Hello John,

You had a very interesting experience. I do not know about the ministry of Trevor Dearing, but here is an article on The Anointing which may be of help to you:

    http://www.letusreason.org/Pent2.htm

Also, we must remember to check the Bible to see what happened to those who were baptized in the Holy Spirit. Were they weakened, did they fall or stagger, or were they empowered from on high with boldness to preach the gospel?

Seek the Lord and pray for wisdom on these things, and read His Word.

Dear Sir,Thanks for your reply,I’ve no idea what the people in Acts felt like when they were filled with Holy Spirit, but I have no doubt that they were aware of it.Because the scriptures don’t record any one persons reaction doesn’t mean that there no any physical reactions at all.For all I know they were so commonplace it wasn’t recorded as anything out of the ordinary.I does seem to me that if Holy Spirit falls upon someone, then that person would know all about it.How could it be otherwise? The event itself is momentous.Even the 120 were accused of having been at the bottle,so it was obvious even to the crowd that something unusual had happened.I myself could could have easily fallen over if I had not made an effort to remain upright, for my legs were buckling under me as I lurched back to my seat where I HAD to sit or fall.Remember that I knew nothing of being ‘slain in the Spirit’prior to this occurence;I didn’t know then that a ‘catcher’ is de rigeur now,or that it as good as obligatory to keel over backwards when someone lays hands on one.Perhaps I’ve missed out

  10. Deborah

    John,
What I would like to know is: are you doing the work of an evangelist, and have you been truly delivered from all your past religious issues from this experience? What is the ‘fruit’ of this prophecy and ‘anointing’? You shall know them by their fruits.

    May 5, 2008 at 11:29 pm

  11. John Knight

Dear Deborah,no;I am not doing any evangelising, neither do I feel the slightest inclination to do so;yes,I have been relieved of any and all experience; When you write ‘issues’,I assume you mean what I wrote;i.e.experience.As to the fruits of this ‘prophecy’ and ‘annointing’ I have no idea whatsoever,I merely related what happened to me on that particular occasion.I am also assuming that you refer to me,not Trevor.

    May 6, 2008 at 4:54 pm

  12. Deborah

When I said that ye shall know them by their fruits, I was refering to the one that ‘prophesied’ over you. By your own words, there has been no ‘fruit’ to his ‘prophecy’, and if there has or is no inclination whatsoever to evangelize, according to this ‘anointing’ that he poured out on you, I would hesitate (but not by much) to say that it had anything to do with the Holy Spirit.

Where the Holy Spirit anoints, it confirms that which has been silently growing in the heart. It doesn’t plant a new one, and by the sounds of things, it didn’t even do that. This should be sufficient evidence that it was not of God.

Many Christians are being destroyed by so called prophecies and ‘anointings’ that do nothing more than drag them around trying to fulfill that which was never of God in the first place. It is the primary cause for the pitiable and pathetic state of things in the Church as a whole. An examination of it’s fruit should be sufficient evidence to avoid this practice all together.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth. God desires truth in the inward parts. He seeks worshipers who are so, in Spirit and in truth. Truth costs. Feeling good, falling down, walking around ‘drunk in the Spirit’ . . . these are the issues and judgments of God against carnality. It’s called ‘strong delusion’ for those who have not a love of the truth. There are several prophecies in the Old Testament that point to just this thing, as well as Isa. 66:4 and 2 Thess. 2:11

These are perilous times indeed. Get yourself secured to the truth that comes through the cross, and not that which bypasses it.

    May 6, 2008 at 6:33 pm

  13. John Knight

I never mentioned a prophecy as such.As for the annointing,it could be for a future time.I certainly don’t feel annointed (or anything else);I don’t feel ‘destroyed’by it.Perhaps the preacher made a mistake;I don’t recall him saying that he was infallible, and he was never given to making outlandish statements in the Kim Clement and Todd Bentley style about angels and excursions to the third heaven. You also said that Holy Spirit confirms that which has been growing in heart.I’d only been a believer for a couple of weeks,so there wasn’t enough time for anything to
grow (unless overnight counts).Even so,to this day I’m not sure what to make of the whole episode

    John,

Just keep reading the Bible and learning who God is. Pray for wisdom, and let Him take care of the rest. Don’t worry about what you may or may not feel. Experiences and feelings can be deceiving and are not a basis for truth. The Lord will reveal the truth to you if you seek Him with all your heart.

    Scott,

Does the revival offend me? What matters more is whether or not the Lord is offended!

Is the Lord offended when his children hunger and thirst for signs and wonders, angel visitations, fake mantles, impartations, anointings, visions, false prophecies and tales of astral travel trips to the third heaven, instead of hungering and thirsting after His righteousness?

Is the Lord offended when those who claim to love Him follow after prophets whose prophecies do not come true, and who talk more about their personal revelations and angels than they talk about Him?

Is the Lord offended when people won’t read their Bibles but they will fly across the country to get a touch from a man who believes the Angel Emma of the false prophet Branham has anointed his ministry?

Is the Lord offended when people follow after a man who says he’s been abducted and operated on by angels? Is the Lord not offended when we listen to doctrines of fallen rebellious angels (demons)?

You should hope more that the Lord “can get past the offense” and tarry for the sake of a few more who might repent before He returns.

7For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. 8And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. 9The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, 10and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

Was Blind Bartamaus seeking after a sign or was he in need of sight? Some seek signs and some are in need and JESUS HEALS not Todd. I pray for people and they get healed, not every time, but it happens. I’m not seeking signs but seeking to be what God created me to be, His hands and feet. God doesnt ask that our Theology be perfect (no ones is not even yours) But that we have faith working through love. Not just faith in salvation. He is pleased with faith. unbelief is sin. I HUNGER FOR RIGHTOUSNESS AND HIS PRESENCE AND TO SEE THE LAME HEALED AND THE BLIND SEE. I want all of Him. And He want all the earth. STOP USING SO MUCH OF YOUR HEAD AND USE YOUR HEART. Its pretty bold of you to say that ALL of the people arnt seeking rightousness. Knowing people that have gone there, they are the most God loving God fearing, hungry for His rightouseness people I have ever known. People that have given everything for the sake of the gospel. DONT TELL ME THEY ARE SEEKING A SIGN, They don’t need one. They are seeking God to move all over this earth in power, Just like he has all throughout history. Read about it. John Wesley, Martin Luther,…….. All the reformers. GODs POWER MOVED in signs and wonders.

Just a quick question? When was the last time you prayed for some one that was sick or crippled and needed a touch from God? Jesus asked us to pray “on earth as it is in heaven” This “revival” is a lot bigger then Todd Bentley. there are millions of Christians wanting and praying, crying out for true revival. They want to see it on earth as it is in heaven. Don’t be surprised when this spreads like wildfire all over the world and 100’s of thousands of christians are seeing the sick healed and the dead raised. And all of Todd Bentleys offensivness is forgotten. (I personally find him offensive) But I know that God uses the foolish things to confound the wise. I’m sure that I would have been offended by the things that Jesus did, if I were alive then. Spiting in some ones eyes, He was scoffed at when he said a dead girl was only sleeping. He looked like a fool to most. But He saw things through differnt eyes.

are all the miracles false? Are all the people who invite Jesus into their hearts not saved? Just because someone thinks about, imagins, visualizes…does not automatically mean that it is wrong just because you say so. When you pray, what do you think of? A blank black screen? Please tell me! Could that be worse? Let’s see, I could say that you are “visualizing” a black place. I demand that you tell me what you think about when you pray!

I would submit that when millions of people are praising Jesus all over the world and thousands are being healed by the Holy Spirit and accepting Jesus as their savior, to criticize that is beyond the bounds of logical thinking. I disagree with Catholic Doctrine.
But does that mean that every Catholic person is praying to the devil and if God moves in a Catholic church it is the Devil?

I do not like the oneness doctrine. But I would not say that oneness people are not saved and that what happens in their church is the Devil.

The worst sin in the Bible was to call something the Holy Spirit did as being done by the Devil. I would repent of this if I were you as the Lord has shown me that people who speak against this highest form of this movement, the glory of God revival, could experience an immediate judgement. I would be careful if I were you of offending the Lord.

Todd Bentley has only lifted up the name of Jesus and prayed for people’s healings. And guess what, they have been healed in Jesus name! Like you, the pharisees had no answer for Jesus who, also like your view of Todd, did not fit into their doctrinal box. They were left with only one option: to call what Jesus did demonic. You are straining at a gnat and swallowing a camel here. Good luck when you get to the hump! And good luck also when you stand before the Lord and have to answer to criticizing a great move of God where perhaps hundreds of thousands of are receiving Jesus as their Saviour.

Paul, God can surely heal whoever He chooses to heal. The issue at hand here is the teaching of Mr. Bentley who has admitted that he has only preached 4 times during the entire “revival.” Where is his Bible? Instead of the word of God, what comes out of his mouth? Is it based on what God has said, or is it based on experiences?

You say; “I demand that you tell me what you think about when you pray!”

I would be careful about demanding. In the New Testament, we read that there were only certain people who made demands. Besides the Pharisees (Luke 17:20), there was King Herod (Matthew 2:4), the Roman soldiers (Luke 3:14, Acts 21:33), Satan (Luke 22:31), those demanding a sign from heaven (Luke 11:16) and those demanding Jesus’ crucifixion (Luke 23).

You also said; “the Lord has shown me that people who speak against this highest form of this movement, the glory of God revival, could experience an immediate judgment.”

Do you know that there are many godly men and women who are hearing something quite different from the Lord? They are saying that God has revealed to them that this movement is not of Him.

You said; “Todd Bentley has only lifted up the name of Jesus and prayed for people’s healings. And guess what, they have been healed in Jesus name!”

Guess what Paul? Jesus said this:

” Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ -Matt. 7:22

And do you know what he will say to them?

“I never knew you; depart from Me”

I pray you will take heed, Paul. Why do you think the Bible is filled with cautions to test everything, and warnings about false prophets and messages from angels? Is it because just maybe we are to test everything and beware of false prophets and angelic messengers?

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.” Matthew 7:15

    Be very careful Paul.

He said Im sending you out heal the sick raise the dead etc. and to look out for “wolves”. The wolves are the ones trying to stop them from healing, raising etc doing the works of the kingdom. ” if the head of the house is called Beelzebub, how much more the members of his household”

About angles! Almost every person used of God in the Bible saw angles. You might as well tear out half of your Bible. Should we not tell the story of the angles that came to the sheepard’s? Were they deceived? I’m glad you werent there to condemn them for speaking about what they saw. Paul saw Jesus Himself on a road before he believed and then angles let him out of jail.. Was Peter wrong for writing what he saw in Rev. Martin Luther had angelic encounters. Let the word of God speak for itself. Let history speak for itself. The Gospel is still being written. Its the good news of what Jesus has done and is still doing today.

    Scott,

Just because someone sees an angel doesn’t mean that the angel is on God’s side. Some years ago an angel named Moroni appeared to a man named Joseph, who took the message and made it into a false religion that is now called the Mormons.

Don’t forget that when Satan rebelled, he took a third of the angelic host with him. His futile goal is to attempt a takeover while destroying as many humans as he can. His tactic is deception and lies, in order to keep us from knowing the truth, and he has had thousands of years to perfect his techniques. The grand finale – the ultimate delusion is yet to come. Do not be deceived!

“I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you, and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed.” Gal 1:6-8

And Scott. Aslan? Please remember that Aslan is a fictional character in a book. The Son of God is much more than king of the (mythological) beasts. He is the creator of the universe, who came the first time as a lamb and will return as a lion (the Lion of Judah). His name is Emmanuel, Jesus, Yeshua Ha’ Mashiach (Messiah), Adonai, The Branch, Shepherd, Redeemer, the beginning and the end, the Prince of Peace, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and so much more.

Learn of Him, not those who follow angels in disguise and tell you to jump on an airplane to “come and get some.”

    Take heed, Scott.

    “Come and get some” (?)

37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” 39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
    John 7:37-39

Look at the verse, Scott. Jesus said “come to Me”. He did not say come and get some. The Holy Spirit is for Jesus to give to those who love Him. Todd Bentley cannot give the Holy Spirit to anyone. The Holy Spirit indwells and flows out of those who believe in Jesus as their Lord. He is not an ‘IT’ as Todd Bentley calls Him. How can you go somewhere to get “IT” when He already dwells in you? The Holy Spirit is NOT a thing to ‘go and get’. When we repent, turn from our sins, and accept Jesus as the Lord of our life, He gives us the Holy Spirit, who will teach us – not jerk us around or throw us on the ground or embarrass us or make us cluck like a chicken or bark like a dog. He is our Comforter and will not leave us. It is through the power of the Holy Spirit that we can we live a spirit filled life and not walk in the flesh.

15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
    -John 14

If an unsaved person comes to an understanding of the saving knowledge of the power of Jesus Christ in Lakeland, it will be inspite of men or angels, not because of them. Of course angels were seen in the Bible. They are God’s messengers, that is not the issue. We are warned in the Bible of false messengers that appear as angels of light.

Scott, I pray that you will measure the things you are hearing with what the Bible says.

Why did Jesus tell his disciples to wait for the Holy Spirit together in Jarusalam? Something happened while they where together and I am sure when people heard about what was happening they came to “get some”. You are trying to hard to find fault. You know darn well that “it” is the glory , presence, Why do you drive to church? maybe “to get some”? what ever that is. Why are you so offended? I think you would have been offended by the things Jesus did. Hanging out with prostitutes, sinners, healing on the sabbath, telling others to eat his flesh and drink his blood, spiting in someones eyes.

    May 20, 2008 at 11:12 pm

  32. sheepyweepy

The Bible tells us that Jesus told his disciples to wait for the Holy Spirit so they would receive power to be His witnesses and to spread the gospel, starting in Jerusalem, to the end of the earth.

Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

The people who heard about what was happening didn’t come to “get some.” They were already there when they heard “the wonderful works of God” being spoken in their native tongues, as there were many people visiting that week from other countries for the Jewish feast of Pentecost (Shavuot, or Feast of Weeks). It was a very crowded time to be in Jerusalem and they were amazed to hear their own languages being spoken.

Acts 2: 8 And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born? 9 Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.”

And then Peter, who had earlier denied Jesus 3 times, was so empowered with boldness by the Holy Spirit that he preached the gospel to the crowd.

(Acts 2: 37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”
38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.)

And three thousand souls repented and were saved that day, and the Lord added to the church after that. You see, they didn’t come to just to “get some”, but they heard the gospel being preached, repented and were saved.

Today God’s glory and presence is being advertised as if it were some candy you can get. Those who are warning others about Todd Bentley, for the most part, are not trying to “find fault” with him. Instead, they are finding much error in what he is teaching (and not teaching) about the Holy Spirit, not to mention the total lack of Bible teaching, in general.

Pastor Stephen Strader has written to me (He is pastor of the host church of Todd Bentley’s “Florida Outpouring) giving statements concerning Todd Bentley, Bob Jones, Patricia King, and whether or not the Florida Outpouring is of God.

I find it sad to read that christians attack each this way. I really miss the love on such a such. Does the Bible not say that we are not to judge? If you think you see something wrong in the body of Christ, PRAY! Just pray and love you neighbors and enemies! Jesus is coming back for a perfect bride, not one that is broken in pieces. There needs to be unity, love and peace in the body.

Really, I believe with all my hart that these kinds of sites really HURTS THE HEART OF JESUS.

STOP IT AND START LOVING ALL THESE PEOPLE THAT YOU ARE CONFICTING!!! Todd, Benny Hinn, etc…
I KNOW THAT JESUS LOVES THEM!

WE NEED TO BE LIKE JESUS!!

hi, i’ve read a lot of your articles but i can’t help but realize that even though you seem to take some reference from the Bible, you seem to be accusing a lot of these prophets. Although it would be wise to discern in the end times, and i believe everyone who has the Holy Spirit in them has the Spirit of truth in them that we should rely and have faith in to help us discern b/w the wolves and the sheeps.
but i can’t help but notice the way you are attacking these prophets whom we do not know for certain are wolves. i believe that we must rightly discern and be extremely cautious here, because if these people are working with the Holy Spirit, and we wrongly judged them, we are judging the Christ in them.
hence, i would think it to be more appropriate if you do not jump to conclusion so quickly. Also, Todd may seem like a bikey or wadever..but i believe that the Lord can use a person like him jz as much as He can use the most decent-looking guy in the world. Salvation is for everybody and i believe that people can get renewed and borned again.

I have read all of this thread and must commend you sheepyweepy of your use of the scriptures. The more you gave to prove the word of God is true the mor ethe responses to become really weird and by BTW Eric from Holland. Yes we do have a right to judge in the the church. We do not have a right to judge a mans position of salvation but we certainly have the right to judge in teh church. Look it up in the scriptures, the very word of God.

    To Wolf?

4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. 1 Cor. 12:4-11

Also, this has nothing to do with Todd’s looks, and everything to do with his misuse of Scripture and his experience based teaching. Rather than jumping to conclusions, those who are critiquing Todd Bentley do so out of love for God, His Word, and the flock. Regarding “attacking prophets whom we do not know for certain are wolves”, it’s not difficult to spot a false prophet when we use the Word as our plumbline. It’s not attacking, it’s called discerning.

    Layla,

Thank you and God bless you.

    WTracker,

I think what you are doing is great. I appreciate it especially after having personally experienced much deception. Praise God those years are behind me, but it is funny how little thoughts can creep back up that are not doctrinally sound… But now I know they are not doctrinally sound 🙂

That said… it is so tragic to see what happens to the people of God when the cloud nine floats back down and there is not rock to stand on.

Speaking the truth in love is serious business and shows great LOVE for the church. There is no unity without TRUTH and there never will be unity without truth.

Its a valiant stand you take and I commend you.

Do keep balance in your life however 🙂

    God bless you,

    Howky,

Although I have not heard of that one, you probably heard right. There have been more than a few of these worrying phrases and slips of the tongue that people have heard the “prophets” saying. This is what happens when people say they are hearing from God – but aren’t.

  48. I did not get an answer!!!!!!!!!!!!
What would you do if gold appeared on you outside the church?? Do you really think the devil loves you enough to give you gold dust??
Do you think the devil loves you enough to heal your body?????
Do you think the devil can cast demons from people?????
How can the devil draw sinners to salvation??? Only the Holy Spirit draws sinners to Christ. Todd Bentley is only a willing vessel used by the Holy Spirit. So what if he doesn’t look like the man next door. Jesus would be rejected in our time because of his appearance and hanging out with the misfits. What have you done for Christ lately. Who gave you the job to judge ministers who are acting like Christ??? This judging ministers sounds like a witch hunt for ministers who do not follow the rules man made to suit their own control over people. If my child was healed from a disease that was distroying his life–I would not care how the minister looked as long as he is being directed by the Holy Spirit. None of this is from the devil—Come on and wake up before you get in a situation that you cannot control. A situation may come when you need to go to an anointed revival for your own healing or deliverance. What if the doctor told you that he could not help you anymore and you had an illness that only God could heal. Would you just lay there and believe the doctor and give up all hope–or would you have faith in a healing Jesus and go where miracles happen????? What if your only child had cancer and the only hope would be a miracle to save this child. Would you take your child to a miracle service and believe Jesus Christ will heal your child??? I hear about miracles of healing, deliverance and salvation from the web site of Todd Bentley. Why would the respected minister R. W. Schambach share time at a conference with Todd Bentley if there was not truth to his ministry. Why would Sid Roth have him as a guest on his show if there was not truth to his ministry. Don’t hide behind Scriptures to defend yourself–just give me some straight answers. In God’s Love and Mercy–Great Awakening–

  49. Before I get an answer from this post–I ask each one of you to go to a web site http://www.spiritlessons.com and read some of the stories about heaven and hell.

We seem to get off the path toward heaven and begin to condemn ministers who are preaching salvation to lost sinners. Yes, Jesus Christ gave his life as a sacrifice for all people who will believe He is the Lamb of God. He gave His life as the ultimate price so we do not have to spend an eternity in a hell of torments with satan and his demons. That is LOVE.

If you judge a minister and cause one sinner to be lost and go to hell because of your negative words of judgement–then what have you accompolished??? What will you say when you stand before God when you have stopped one sinner from coming to Christ because of your negative words???? Stop this maddness and pray for Todd Bentley that more sinners will attend his revival and be saved by the Holy Spirit. How do you feel when you bash another minister??? Good???? I don’t think so!

God owns everything–and our only rewards are souls saved into the Kingdom of God. If your brother has offended you–forgive him. Stop all this negative against ministers who are on the front line in the army of God. Pray for them, love them and support your brothers and sisters in Christ.

It doesn’t matter who is right or wrong in the posts. Do not let your pride destroy your faith in the Most High God. Forgive everyone who has offended you and love your brothers and sisters. God is not pleased with negative thinking and negative words spoken against his Generals.

Mary K Baxter has written two books that you need to read about her visits to heaven and hell. “The Devine Revelation of Heaven” and “The Devine Revelation of Hell” Take time to read the stories on the web site SPIRITLESSONS and then you tell me why you come against anyone who is ministering to the people for souls to be saved from hell!

If you cause one sinner to go to hell because of your negative comments against this minister–then who do you serve. You cannot go North and South at the same time. You cannot serve God and Satan at the same time. You cannot go to heaven and hell at the same time. Who do you serve?????

You will say, “What does this have to do with Todd Bentley, and you calling him a false prophet???
What about all the young men and women who are accepting Jesus as their savior during these services???? We do not fight against flesh and blood–our fight is in the spirit realm against the evil force that is trying to destroy men and women and cause them to go to hell! That is the good news–the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Who are you to judge a man of God who is uplifting Jesus Christ. Jesus commandment to us–Love the Lord God with all your heart and LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF! Love Todd Bentley and his family. Pray for your brother in Christ so more souls will be saved from hell.

When you read the Bible and search the Scriptures–don’t just read and use the Scriptures to hurt others. Let the WORDS of God penetrate into your own spirit and soul. Use wisdom before you write hurting words that could cause one sinner to go to hell!. Do you not know that the devil causes confussion in the minds of Christians and cause division among the churchs. The church is not a building–the church is the people.

Search your heart and begin to love one another. Prayer changes things and the things that need to be changed is–stop bashing God’s ministers and love and pray for them.

If I have offended anyone of you on this post–I ask your forgiveness–now can you do the same for your brothers and sisters. Jesus said, “If you do not forgive your brothers–your Father God in heaven will not forgive you” What a shame it would be to live your whole life for God and not forgive your brother or sister.

Forgive everyone who has ever offended you and LOVE! I love each one of you in God’s Love–God Loves you more. Peace and Love to all.

    Great Awakening!

Do not come back and quote the Scriptures to me unless you have read the Bible 70 times and love others as Christ has loved you. I know the Scriptures and respect the Holy Bible–I will never use it to hurt others. Let us support each other. Our enemy is the anti-Christ–not our own brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ.

    Great Awakening,

I see that you have written two very lengthy comments so I will go through them one at a time.

First I will try to answer to the questions in your first comment [my answers will be in brackets]:

What would you do if gold appeared on you outside the church??

[Why on earth would you want gold on a church? Why on earth would God put gold on a building? What purpose would that have? This is simply not biblical.]

Do you really think the devil loves you enough to give you gold dust??

[Love? For God so loved the world, He gave His only Son…
The devil hates us enough to deceive our lustful flesh with material things.]

Do you think the devil loves you enough to heal your body?????

[The devil hates us enough to heal our bodies in order to deceive us into believing it is a sign and wonder from God. Have you heard of New Age energy healing, therapeutic touch, Reiki?]

Do you think the devil can cast demons from people?????

[13 Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.” 14 Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so.
15 And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?”
    Acts 19]

How can the devil draw sinners to salvation???

[He can’t. Only the Holy Spirit draws sinners to Christ. But God can use the chaos caused by the devil to allow you to come to the end of yourself so you will have no where else to turn, and be convicted by the Holy Spirit and repent and turn to Jesus Christ to be the Lord of your life.]

Todd Bentley is only a willing vessel used by the Holy Spirit. So what if he doesn’t look like the man next door. Jesus would be rejected in our time because of his appearance and hanging out with the misfits.

[This blogger is not so shallow as to judge someone on the basis of their physical appearance whether it is that which they have no control over or fashion dictated by worldly standards. Todd Bentley, however, in his own words has chosen his costume to attract the world. Even so, it is his teachings that are the greater concern. Todd Bentley is also a willing and open vessel to be used by deceiving angels of light to bring false messages to the sheep.]

What have you done for Christ lately.

[That is for Him to know. We are to boast about Jesus Christ and what He has done, not what we have done for Him. Our reward is in heaven, not on earth.]

Who gave you the job to judge ministers who are acting like Christ???

[All those in the body of Christ are called to judge those who do not hold to sound doctrine and are not acting Christlike.
It is very sad that you truly believe that Todd Bentley is acting like Jesus Christ.]

This judging ministers sounds like a witch hunt for ministers who do not follow the rules man made to suit their own control over people.

[We are to be like the Bereans and examine and test all things with Scripture to see if these things are so.]

What if the doctor told you that he could not help you anymore and you had an illness that only God could heal. Would you just lay there and believe the doctor and give up all hope–or would you have faith in a healing Jesus and go where miracles happen?????

[I would rejoice that my name is written in the book of life and that it is better to be absent from the body and with the Lord. But I would ask Him to do as He wills. He is perfectly capable of healing our bodies, but He is also our strength and our peace in the midst of suffering and trials, and in the valley of the shadow of death. We are all going to die, you know that, right?]

What if your only child had cancer and the only hope would be a miracle to save this child. Would you take your child to a miracle service and believe Jesus Christ will heal your child???

[I would ask the elders of my church to pray for him, as the Word instructs. Our hope is not in some “miracle service” and some man that says he has the gift of healing, but in the name of the Lord.
“Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord” James 5:14]

I hear about miracles of healing, deliverance and salvation from the web site of Todd Bentley.

[That’s correct, his website is filled with glowing reports. Of course it is. You can also ‘sow into the revival’ on the website or be a Harvester Partner for $360 a year, a Kingdom Builder for $1,000 a year or a Global Fire Partner for only $5,000 a year, so that you will have ‘spiritual benefits’, and the anointing and blessing of God’s Spirit who will then provide everything you need (so that you can keep giving them more money).]

Why would the respected minister R. W. Schambach share time at a conference with Todd Bentley if there was not truth to his ministry.

[You mean R.W.Schambach the great faith healer who needed to go to a doctor for a quadruple heart bypass? I guess he didn’t have enough faith. You see, we all get sick and die in this world, the real miracle is that the wages of sin have been paid in full and our names are written in the Lamb’s book of Life!
Just because a man has a conference with another man does not mean that there is truth in their ministry.]

Why would Sid Roth have him as a guest on his show if there was not truth to his ministry.

[This was not the first time Sid Roth has interviewed Bentley, he has known him for a while. This shows a lack of discernment on the part of Sid Roth. Again, just because someone whom you may admire interviews someone, does not mean that he is in the truth. Jesus said we will know them by their fruit.]

Don’t hide behind Scriptures to defend yourself–just give me some straight answers.

[I am very sad that you said this because the scripture is the only place we can go to for a straight answers. In fact, the only time I know I am right is when I am quoting scripture. Of course, it can be twisted and taken out of context, but it is also our sword and part of our armor and we are instructed to use it, not lay it down or hide behind it. The Bible says to take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.]

I hope your questions have been answered, but most of all, I pray that you would examine these things with the Word of God and take it to heart. This is a serious matter.

Now I will look at your next entry…

    July 9, 2008 at 5:17 pm

  51. sheepyweepy

    Great Awakening,

I have read your second lengthy comment and have tried to answer your questions. [Once again, I have put your questions first, and followed with my answers in brackets]:

Before I get an answer from this post–I ask each one of you to go to a web site http://www.spiritlessons.com and read some of the stories about heaven and hell.

[First of all, Great Awakening, I cannot take seriously anything on a website that promotes false prophets such as Bob Jones, Patricia King, and Rick Joyner, not to mention a myriad of other false teachings.]

[Wolf Tracks is a discernment blog, not an evangelistic blog (although we are always to have an answer ready to everyone for the hope that lies within us). It was merely started for the purpose of exposing the tracks of false teachers. The Bible instructs all of us to exercise discernment, but some are especially called to be watchmen. This is not about saying negative words and crying wolf, it is about warning of false teaching, out of love for the sheep, who are oh so gullible and in constant danger of falling away and being wounded and devoured by wolves. Warning others and exposing error should not make any Christian feel “good”. It should make us weep that there is even a necessity to do so until the Lord returns. What the sheep do with the warning is not up to the watchmen.]

God owns everything–and our only rewards are souls saved into the Kingdom of God. If your brother has offended you–forgive him. Stop all this negative against ministers who are on the front line in the army of God. Pray for them, love them and support your brothers and sisters in Christ.

[It’s not about whether or not someone like Todd Bentley offends me personally, but whether or not he is offending the body of Christ by falsely representing Jesus to the world. You think we should not warn the sheep about wolves among them, but that’s not what the Bible says.

28 Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. 29 For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves. 31 Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.
    Acts 20

I know you won’t like it that I quoted scripture again, but I had to.]

It doesn’t matter who is right or wrong in the posts. Do not let your pride destroy your faith in the Most High God. Forgive everyone who has offended you and love your brothers and sisters. God is not pleased with negative thinking and negative words spoken against his Generals.

[It’s not about who has offended US, but who has offended THE LORD and misrepresented His body. God’s Generals? Who are God’s generals? You talk about pride? We are all His servants, and we are to walk in humility serving eachother. You talk like someone who is part of Freshfire’s Joel’s Army.]

[Why are you reading Mary K Baxter? Her book is full of error and heresy. See here for example:

THE “HEAVENLY HASH” OF MARY K. BAXTER
A CRITICAL LOOK OF HER CELESTIAL REVELATION
    by G. Richard Fisher
    http://www.pfo.org/heavenly.htm

You say you know your Bible so you should recognize that. ]

If you cause one sinner to go to hell because of your negative comments against this minister–then who do you serve. You cannot go North and South at the same time. You cannot serve God and Satan at the same time. You cannot go to heaven and hell at the same time. Who do you serve?????

[I can’t send anyone to hell. People send themselves to hell by rejecting the truth. I serve my Shepherd, the Lord Jesus Christ.]

[I pray and trust that if, by the grace of God, young men and women have truly understood what it means to repent of their sins, turn from their ways, and follow Jesus as the Lord of their lives, that the Holy Spirit will guide them into all truth. You are right about the spirit realm, but I might add that the spirit realm is not only trying to destroy the lost and cause them to go to hell, but is also very busy trying to deceive and tempt and introduce heresies (through Satan ministers who appear as angels of light) into the body of Christ and trick people in pews into believing they are saved when they are not, or by making a mockery of the church and rendering Christians ineffective.]

[If Todd Bentley has recently begun to mention the name of Jesus more than the names of men and angels, it is because he was pulled aside and told to do so. I pray that the Lord will turn Todd Bentley from His error and have mercy on his soul.]

[The word of God is sharper than a two-edged sword. It’s His Word that cuts and divides. We have absolutely no other way to divide truth from error. We MUST use it. God’s Word will exhort, convict and divide, and will not return void.]

Search your heart and begin to love one another. Prayer changes things and the things that need to be changed is–stop bashing God’s ministers and love and pray for them.

[You are correct, we must NEVER bash God’s true ministers. It is because we love the body that we must exhort and warn each other to stay in the truth. And thank you for that reminder, we all need to search our hearts daily. Without love, all gifts of the Holy Spirit are like a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.]

Do not come back and quote the Scriptures to me unless you have read the Bible 70 times and love others as Christ has loved you.

[So, we cannot quote scripture unless we read the Bible 70x? I don’t know where it says that in the Bible?]

Basically, you are right, we must love and support each other in the body of Christ. And because we love eachother, we must also examine everything, weed out false teaching, pay attention to doctrine, watch out for false Christs and wolves in sheeps clothing, and hold to the truth, as Paul exhorts us to do from the scripture, and as Jesus warned over and over.

If you love someone, you tell them the truth. And sometimes, the truth hurts, and sometimes, it makes you weep.

I cant help but wonder why, if this is a move of the Spirit why the Fruits of the Spirit are nowhere to be seen.
When i heard Todd B say that God told him to kick an old lady in the head I just asked myself why the fruit of peace, self control and gentleness are not there.

You see I know that Jesus said by their fruits you will know them. Matt 7.
Just because someone perfoms wonders does not mean it is of God.
Also Paul in Acts 20 v 29-30 gives warnings.
It is right to be very very careful and test these things.

  55. Thank you for your answers! I appreciate your straight answers to each question. For example–ten people can read one Scripture and the meaning will be different for each one because of their past experiences and their need of the written word.

I hear compassion in your words and know you are truly seeking answers for yourself. I know you are also seeking answers from others or you would not have this post to recieve the answers from others about false prophets. It’s important to open your mind and see the other side. When I say the other side–I refer to people who do not believe Todd Bentley is a false prophet. I for one see no fault in him.

Some of the actions performed by Jesus for the healing of others were also strange. What about the mud in the eye and the dipping in the muddy river. Sounds strange.

One thing you did not answer is–If you had a child who needs a miracle and the doctors could not help this child–would you take this child to a miracle service to be healed by Jesus Christ???????

If you had heart problems–you would go to a doctor who treats heart problems. You would not go to a doctor who treats livers. Right? If you need a miracle–go where miracles are happening.

I once had a loved one who needed a miracle. I took my loved one to the elders of the church and nothing happened. After many visits to other churches and their elders–still nothing happened. I finally took her to a place where miracles happened–and finally she was healed. Pray for all the ministers who are doing God’s work and stop bashing their ministeries. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ.

Are you a minister, teacher, preacher, prophet, writer, or author for the Kingdom of God through the teachings of Jesus Christ?????? Or—are you a wolf in sheeps clothing or a false prophet???? Are you male or female?? Are you young or old????? I would like to know about the person who is in charge of answering questions that could lead others in the wrong direction. Who are you???????????????????? The name Sleepyweepy sounds sleepy and weepy–as in sleepy–not having energy or not fully awake. Weepy–as in sad, crying, depressed and without joy. Why the name Sleepyweepy??????? You should have a strong name like AwakeeyJoyee if you are a true child of the Most High God.

    July 9, 2008 at 11:10 pm

  57. Sheepyweepy,
I understand that you are trying to save sheep from weeping, Right? But do not be caught sleeping while the sheep are weeping. Sleepyweepy is what I am hearing from your post. Our purpose as God’s children is to bring in the harvest of souls for the Kingdom of God. We pray for sinners to be saved from hell, Right? If we stand in the way of one sinner coming to Jesus Christ by bashing other ministers–then we must answer to God for our own actions. Right? Jesus’ commandment is to LOVE the Lord God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself.

Can you love Todd Bentley as yourself?????????
Can you forgive others as Christ has forgiven you?????????
Can we start over and tell me exactly what this man of God has done to deserve the condemnation from other Christians. I do not believe the sinners who have been saved through his ministry feel the way so-called Christians do about Todd. I should say, “Shame on anyone who stands in the way of one sinner from coming to salvation in Todd’s service or any service where the altar call is made for sinners to come to Christ”. Love one another as Christ loves you. Forgive one another as Christ forgave you and then you will be Christ-like. Everyone has to give an account of themselves to God.

“Why the name Sleepyweepy??????? You should have a strong name like AwakeeyJoyee if you are a true child of the Most High God.”

Great Awakening you should have a name like Greatly Undiscerning. Who taught you or failed to teach you the fundamentals of christianity
so that you could not see Todd Bentley for what he is. WE weep for you 😦

    Great Awakening,

The reason 10 people can interpret something differently from one Bible verse is that they are not reading it in context or studying the whole Bible, verse by verse, precept upon precept, to receive the full counsel of God.

I was asking for input from others not because I am seeking answers for myself, but so that others, like you, might find answers and godly wisdom from people who can explain these things better than I can.

As far as opening one’s mind to see the other side, I believe it is safer to stay in the truth.

How can you say you see no fault in Todd Bentley? He is a mere man, the only faultless man being Jesus? Perhaps you have been influenced by Todd’s story of Jesus walking into his room one night and telling him that his heart is pure.

Some of Jesus’ miracles seemed strange to us, but they all have a meaning, and they were never violent or for show in front of a camera. Jesus told those he healed to not tell anyone. When the crowds flocked to him for more miracles, he left and went to the next place because they were seeking him for signs and wonders.

Regarding taking a child to a miracle service to be healed by Jesus – God’s power is available to us where ever we are when we call on him, not just in a building at some miracle service. Did the centurion need to bring his servant to see Jesus to get healed? (Matthew 8 )

You say to ‘go where miracles are happening’, but God is not limited to a physical place. Neither are we to chase after signs and wonders.

You say you know your Bible, but why don’t you use it or seem to have a love for it? You call yourself Great Awakening, but are you so fast asleep that you cannot even reason? Have you totally missed the point? If you had read my answers which you demanded to hear, you would not demand to know who I am and shift the burden of proof on me. My identity has no bearing on the message – that people need to look to God’s Word for truth. You have asked me questions, and I have taken the time to answer them. If that makes you uncomfortable, then don’t demand that I answer your questions.

I might chalk this up to a futile exercise in tossing pearls if I didn’t know that my God is able to bear fruit in someone else who might read here and who is willing to receive the truth. As for you, Great Awakening, I pray that you wake up before you are completely given over to deception.

    Hello Mary B,

It’s so refreshing to read a comment from someone who can see clearly.

    July 10, 2008 at 8:15 am

  61. What do you think about the special NIGHTLINE had about Todd Bentley last evening. He prayed for people in the name of Jesus!

    July 11, 2008 at 3:01 am

  62. sheepyweepy

He also could not give any solid verification for the miracles. He also gave false hope to a trusting boy who obviously still had spina bifida. He also said that people sometimes only had ‘partial healings’.

But he prayed in the name of Jesus. So that makes it all okay.

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.

“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’

“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’

    Matthew 7: 21-23

  63. What if this revival spread around the world and in your church??? What would you say if your pastor recieved the impartation and revival was in your area of the world????? What if people were saved, healed and delivered in your church???

    July 11, 2008 at 4:19 pm

  64. sheepyweepy

    Guess what Great Awakening,

Your great impartation/revival leader came from my area of the world. Whenever he comes back from his world travels and healing crusades, nothing much happens. The hospital is always full. The streets are always filled with homeless lost souls addicted to drugs. The occult is thriving. There is no big revival here. Does your fearless leader care more about the Florida cameras than he does about the people in his part of the world? Or is it that the people in his part of the world know he is just another guy claiming to do miracles and that his ministry’s home base has always been noted and red flagged for its bizarre teachings?

Inspite of all the bad news back at home, people are being saved, delivered and healed in my church without Todd Bentley’s help or anointing. Praise God! Personal genuine revival (without GodTV hype) will continue until the Lord returns.

    July 11, 2008 at 6:42 pm

  65. Sheepyweepy,Now I can see that you are serious about bringing in souls into the Kingdom of God. I have tested your spirit and see that you are serving God and the love of God comes from your heart. Again, if I have offended you in anyway–I ask your forgiveness and I also forgive you. We must continue to love one another as Christ loves us. I can see you are a young lady after God’s heart.

    Great Awakening,
I think you are full of…excuse me but bull.
    “I have tested the spirits”….
Please. Give me a break. You test the spirits now based on what? And yet you cannot test the false teachings and demonic impartations of Todd Bentley???
Like I said, give me a break.

    July 12, 2008 at 12:08 am

  68. sheepyweepy

Perhaps Great Awakening has been playing the D’s advocate.

    So GA, who are you?

    July 12, 2008 at 12:34 am

  69. Sleepyweepy,
You have answered my question about who you are and you said, “I must say, I am highly confused”.
Maybe you are the one playing the D’s advocate by bashing the ministers of God. Shame on you!

    Mary,
Who are you to say Todd Bentley is a false prophet with demonic impartations. The 10 commandments tell you to not bear false witness against our neighbor. Have you broken the commandment when you lie about another minister. How do you know who he is????? I believe this man is a servant of God. Shame on you!

    The game is over.

    July 12, 2008 at 3:23 am

  71. Sheepyweepy,
You are right–the game is over! No one has won and no one has lost. We have only voiced our beliefs and it appears we will not agree–and that’s OK. I leave this post because I see no need in debating an issue that is wasting my time. I love each one of you in God’s Love and Mercy. Again, if I have offened anyone of you–I ask your forgiveness and I also FORGIVE YOU. In God’s Love, Great Awakening. There is no need to respond because at this point because I leave the post and will not read anymore negative words against God’s Generals.

    Sheepy Weepy,
I just read this thread through after having left it alone for a while.

If I could say something that I hope to be constructive:

After the second or third admonition, shake the dust off and cut ’em loose, insofar as posts like Great Awakenings go. Don’t give the devil so much air time, and don’t let him use your blog as a platform to sow his doubts and question your authority and motives.

Better to give of your time and effort to those who are truly seeking to find out and learn the truth, than waste it on those who will never be persuaded.

You are waging a valiant warfare, but beware the enemy doesn’t do an end run on you through your patience and forbearance to give him a fair hearing.

There are many fragile Christians out there that need to see and hear a firm hand and voice deal with such as ‘Great Awakenings’ if they are to summon the faith, strength and courage to break free of their own deceptions and bondage to the signs and wonders, touch not my anointed crowd.

Good work Sheepy, excellent swordsmanship, but discernment also knows when to shut the door.

Thank you for your good advice Deborah.

My hope is that this thread may be of benefit to others who are truly seeking answers to these same questions.

I think if you are like me sheepy weepy, you are probably a bit shocked at the level of …..how should I say it? at the level of ignorance and blindness people like GA display in their writting. I am often shocked and taken back that after all the youtube/godtv videos of Todd incerting foot in mouth, and great analysis on blogdom about his false teachings, that people still refuse to see the truth about that man. As it is said: They love not the truth.

    July 16, 2008 at 10:49 pm

  76. sheepyweepy

    Hi Mary,

Yes, it is quite amazing to see. The sad part is that those who reject the truth when it is presented to them are given over to the delusion. It stems from not being grounded in the Word.

    Dear Great Awakening,
In response to your post on July 10th… it’s not that people don’t love Todd ~ they do. It’s that his teachings are not Biblical. People can only be saved by hearing the Gospel (that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and raised from the dead; 1 Cor 15:1-4), and by believing that message (Eph 1:13). Todd needs to be preaching Christ and Him crucified. People are NOT saved by being healed physically. I think THAT is why so many watchmen/women weep. God, Bless us please with your constant Love and Mercy, through Jesus. -Brenda

  80. Good to see another heresy hunter like myself. Don’t be ashamed of exposing the lies coming from the apostate church. Keep contending. Biblical contenders endure. God is not pleased when men shrink away. Bless you for your uncompromising stand!

Interesting blog. I dont’ know if this thread is still open, but I would love to hear what Scott and defenders of Todd Bently say NOW in the aftermath of all that has shamefully followed.
I pray eyes have been truly opened.

Hi, not sure where to send this to you. email?

    2 things.

    First:
I am upset at ETPW for attacking me with slander, lies, and falsely accusing me of “threatening” them. Miriam, a number of months ago, even swore at me- in writing. LOL
The threat thing is bad though. Any thoughts?
Miriam is also telling people she was physically attacked a few months ago,
but when questioned by other websites, Miriam keeps changing the story.
    Something smells over there.
    Maybe you can find out.

    Second,
Here is what i am posting to several websites:

    Matthew 7:5
    You hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of your own eye;
and then shall you see clearly to cast out the mote out of your brother’s eye.

Just as we expect “leadership” in churches,
    to show accountability, transparency,
we should also expect “leadership” on websites,
    to show accountability, transparency.

If enough of us ‘demand’ this, hopefully the
    website’s owners will voluntarily submit
names, IP’s to an independent 3rd party,
    such as Rick Hebert,
who can then screen people using multiple
identities. Also, ‘cloaking’ IP’s is not allowed.

This would prevent ‘manipulation’ of sites,
increase credibility, and put to rest dissension.

Currently, there is no accountability whatsoever.
Any end time or prophetic site can say whatever
they want with no accountability. Change is needed.

Voice your comment in favor of leader
accountability to each blog you visit, today!
(simply copy and paste this above, to sites.)

Would you consider being part of this
    and posting this?

    Thanks and God Bless.

No, sorry, I’m woefully unaware of it, and am probably the least perfect apple on the tree. I think it shows that we all need to stay very close to our Shepherd, Jesus Christ, as the enemy is prowling about and will use any chance he can get to cause trouble in the flock.

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16

The time is short, and there are lost sheep to find. I must go now.

to answer an above statement. demons cannot cast out demons. it’s impossible. satan cannot cast out his own angels. no ministry of the devils or a false prophets leads people to salvation. false prophets point to themselves, not jesus.

people are being saved, people are being healed. this is jesus working through this. the BAD thing would be to try to be just like Todd (going there for Todd, meeting him, idolizing, etc), because we all should strive to be like Jesus.

have you been to his ministry? have you followed Todd for years? know his testimony? know him? how much authority do you have judging this mans fruit? what do you do? are you planted in a jesus loving church? serving?

    March 2, 2010 at 12:13 pm

    • sheepyweepy

      Jesus said…

22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
      Matthew 7

Yes, we have followed kept track of Todd for years. Yes, we know his testimony. Yes, we are planted in a Jesus loving, Bible believing church, and serving (not that this has anything at all to do with the fact that he is a false prophet).

Don’t judge those in the church? We are instructed in the Bible as Christians to judge men’s works by their fruits. Jesus said to beware of false prophets and that by their fruits you will know them (Matt. 7:20).

      Then there’s 1 Corinthians 5:
9 I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people. 10 Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. 11 But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person.
12 For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? 13 But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the evil person.”

The Lord will save people in spite of Todd Bentley, certainly not because of him. That goes for each one of us vessels.

  84. I think you should include more info about who you are in the blog. While some of your criticism may be fair it comes from an anonymous person which is unfair. You should clearly stand behind your words.

    July 25, 2011 at 3:02 pm

  85. sheepyweepy

I do stand behind my words. Any info about me would distract from the facts presented.

    July 26, 2011 at 5:55 am

  86. I don’t see how you stand behind your words when there is no clear “I” backing up the blog. To me it seems unfair to comment on others when you don’t make it clear who you are and where you are coming from. If your words have merit I fail to see how a short bio would be distracting, it simply lets the reader add another point of authenticity into the grid. To me the lack of a clear bio diminishes the validity of your message.

    July 26, 2011 at 2:01 pm

    • sheepyweepy

Thanks for your opinion. Those who wish to read blogs by authors with clear bios are free to do so.

There’s something weird about followers of Todd Bentley wanting to know who you are, as if that has any relevance (it clearly doesn’t). It indicates that they are “respecters of persons”, which the Holy Spirit is not, and therefore the children of God (those who are led by the Spirit), are also not respecters of persons (Deut 1:17, 2 Chron 19:7). There is a great deal of the ‘personality cult’ involved in not only the whole Todd Bentley thing but in all these sorts of ‘movements’. Those who do not love the truth will only agree with you and denounce Todd if they like your bio better than his! NOT because of the truth you speak. That is irrelevant to them. They often accuse us of being against Todd because of his tattoos and piercings but the sad truth is, they are FOR him because of his tattoos and piercings (John 8:44)! Thank you for this blog, it is a blessing.
