When does God move among His Sheep?

OH SHEEP! PLEASE listen to an excellent sermon about true revival by Pastor Livingston of Central Church (Charlotte, NC) ***HERE*** that will either make you jump up and shout HALLELUJAH or send you to your knees in repentance! Or both.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Praise God for true pastors like this.

Thanks very much to JNj who recommended this link.

Are Sheep supposed to be Drunk?

Are sheep supposed to be drunk in the spirit?

Drunk in the Spirit (Deception Bytes)

One of huge characteristic of the apostolic and prophetic movement is being drunk in the spirit. “Have another drink” they shout, “Come and get some” and “More Lord”. However do we really want to fill our glass with this wine? The truth is that nowhere in scripture does God equate the Holy Spirit with staggering, loss of control, disrupted motor function, slurred speech, confusion, disorientation, or falling. In fact it appears scripture supports the OPPOSITE. We are admonished to stay sober and be vigilant- and all the more as we see the end approaching.

Of course it is not surprising that their followers would not know exactly what the Bible says for this movement discourages the use of scripture and exchanges this for “progressive” or “new” revelation from their prophets, and apostles. Questioning is not encouraged lest we touch the Lord’s anointed.

Inevitably these verses in Acts 2:14-16 are used to prove that “getting drunk in the Spirit” is ok and even encouraged and sanctioned by God! Is this the Truth? Let’s look at the scripture…

Who are you following?

Sheep, are you following those who are Christ-like? As the prophesied Messiah, these are some of the qualities of Jesus:

– The Servant Messiah would be humble and meek and it is clear that He is an individual rather than the nation of Israel as a whole.

– He will not be a bragger or a show-off, but on the contrary He will be quiet and gentle.

– He will not use loud and angry arguments to win hearts.

– He would be careful not to bruise anything fragile or weak, such as any broken-hearted souls or weak believers, or anyone that has been crushed by sin or calamity.

– The “smoking flax” speaks of something that is just about to go out, like the expiring wick of an oil lamp. By giving His Words of life and true religion He will cause the dying flame to be re-fueled and lit again to burn brightly.

– The Servant Messiah would not be condemning in His tone of voice. He would always encourage and lift up the weak and feeble sinner.

(From Will be Meek and Humble, Bible History Online)

If you are following a pastor or teacher who does not have these qualities, or point you to this Jesus, take a closer look. He could very well be a wolf in sheeps clothing pointing you to another Jesus.

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” Matthew 7:15

More Wolves in Disguise – where you’d least expect them

There are some places you would never expect to see wolves in sheeps clothing – or wolves in ‘horse and buggy’ clothing. What about those peaceful Mennonites?
