Déjà Vu

If you watch Part 2 of Sid Roth’s interview of Todd Bentley on it’s Supernatural TV Show, you will hear something that might give you a very strange experience. Not a trip to the third heaven or an out of body visit to England, and not a moment of ecstatic vibrating in a fire tunnel or portal of power…just a brief moment of déjà vu.

If you know your Bible, this moment will probably occur as you watch this interview to the part that is right before the break, where Sid Roth says:

“We’re going to be back in a moment, and I am going to have Todd pray for an transferable anointing so that you can do the same things that we can do because you have, and if you don’t you better, the same Jesus within you. Don’t go away.

This is when the déjà vu moment might occur for you too, simply because these words are all too familiar…

“Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost..”
-Simon the Sorcerer ( Acts 8 )

“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go to the Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son” (John 14:12,13).

Please , as so many are , do not use the scriptures to suit your own mind on things! I cannot see the connection with that particular Sid Roth show and simon the sorcerer’s request as he had his own agenda and required spiritual gifts for his own gain .This is not the situation here and has no relevance , please take this in love !

I’m sorry, I should have explained it better. It is the doctrine of Simon that is the same.

Simons says, “Give me this power, so I can do what you do.”

Sid Roth and Todd Bentley say, “Come and get this power, we can give you this power, so you can do what we do.”

It’s the concept that is the same.

When wecome to the Lord it is because He is the only one who can save us from the wages of our sins (death). We come to him because He loved us while we were yet sinners. Without Jesus we are spiritually dead. When we repent and turn to Him, and give Him rule of our lives, He empowers us with His Holy Spirit to live for Him. We don’t come to people to impart this power of the Holy Spirit to us so we can “do great things.”

Simon wanted the power to do greater things than he could as a sorcerer. Sid and Todd say they can give you the power to do great things. The Holy Spirit helps us to walk in His power so we can die to ourselves and live for Jesus Christ, so we can testify of Him. We must not seek the signs, wonders and power, but the Lord alone.

That is the difference between truth and error.
